    [insert witty phrase here] :D

    Hi there!

My name is Leanna. I am a female ISTJ and am currently pursuing a B.A. in Psychology. My step-mother has a Masters in Psychology, so I knew that I was an ISTJ since I was about 8 and I've always loved discussing personality with her. But other than her, none of my other friends really know much about it (or discuss it often). So I'm really glad that I stumbled upon this community, and I look forward to getting to know you all better.

Also, from my experience online (and in-real-life), I've yet to meet another female ISTJ (so I assume that they must be...rare? Online, at least.) So if you ever wanted to ask a female ISTJ something or get one's perspective on something, feel free to ask me!

You know saying [insert witty phrase here] does not make you witty. [Insert insult phrase here].

;D Hello and welcome to the forum.

    Is your mother ENTP?

Well yes, of course it doesn't make me witty...it just means that I was too tired to actually think of something witty to write. (and since it's about 1am where I am right now, I think that it's reasonable for my mind to be lacking in wit right now)

Thanks for the welcome, though! (and if the subject line came off as arrogant in any way, I apologize)

Well my mother is an ESFP, but my step-mother (the one I referred to in my intro post) is a INFJ

I have 3 ISTJs that work around me (all male). Love them. All of them are very hard workers.... one of the though simply cannot get enough done in a day... always asking for more work to do.

I just think that maybe you don't see many online on these kinds of forums because the type isnt much into it. (Generically speaking...)

I don't think I've ever met a female ISTJ though... I wonder if you were not exposed to it at such a young age, would you be interested.

Do you have a strongly developed feeling side... or?

Yes, I definitely think my step-mother must have influenced me into becoming more interested in personality at a young age. Ever since I was young I've always been really interested in personality types and how they affect every aspect of our lives (and her loading me up with novels on personality probably encouraged this greatly).

Actually my Thinking side is very strong (more than 80% if I remember correctly). But I've always wished I could develop my feeling side a little more...it would definitely make certain things a lot easier for me

ETA: The lack of female ISTJs really is interesting, isn't it? Or maybe, like me, they tend to have a lot of guy friends (and so they don't interact much with other girls). And if that's true then, since I'm a girl, it'd make sense that I haven't had much interaction with other female ISTJs

Interesting, I wonder if you're of the school of thought that personality is fluid, or rigid. Anyways, glad you could join us.

I haven't really thought about it in depth before but now that you ask, I would say that I think personality is more rigid. I think that we can learn and try to change/improve certain habits or tendencies that we have (and we might even succeed) but ultimately we naturally gravitate towards thinking or acting in certain ways. For example, I once had a friend with a strong P and I tried to teach her how to be more structured and planning with her studying habits and coursework. In time she improved but I constantly had to remind her to and she had to constantly remind herself to.

After a certain amount of time would it come naturally to her (and thus, would she have developed her J more permanently)? Or would it always be something she would have to force herself to do? I'm not sure...

But it's definitely an interesting question.

Welcome! I'm glad the recent tension in this forum hasn't prevented new people from joining. We're not that bad once you get to know us.
