That can also work. It makes you mysterious.

Yes, smile and nod got me through many awkward years.
I'd like to know more about this topic. Since I'm attracted to Sensors and then we have problems. . . .
I tried to get Hayakawa's book from the regional library but they don't have it. Yeesh all they have is how to learn languages, interesting facts about English, and stuff like that. I put in an order through ILL (interlibrary loan).

I do a similar thing with intuitives.

    Or people in general.

    Sometimes without the smile.

    And with raised brows instead.

Which is why iNtuitives are a lot more likely to develop themselves: learning how to 'Sense' is a more of a choice than a challenge or practiced skill.
-> Climbing up the ladder is much harder than going down.

i thought that was an insightful vid @Dasein posted in the op

my 2 two cents on this:

    1) you should realize and keep in mind that everyone has both an intuitive side and sensing side.

For instance I think ISFJs are some of the best people to talk to about intuitive subjects... i guess because they're intuitive side is that of INTPs (which as you in in this sub forum known are arguably the best logical thinkers) but ISFJs in ways I think can be even better than an INTP..because INTPs will focus on details and get argumentative, whereas ISFJs will have INTP logical skills but because they're not dominated by it like to keep convo going and are more prone to agreeing to disagree ..I think people are all different how much they lean towards N vs S and some people are closer to the middle... so while some S types might be somewhat weak in N thinking not all are ... also a big part of the communication w/ an S type isn't so much a matter of recognizing that they will be less interested in N subjects and more easily lost in abstract concepts, but rather what type of N type their N side is ..is it NF or NT? and is it rational or irrational?

    2) the difference between N and S dom prob often has less to do w/ cognitive ability and more to do simply w/ what info is focused on

So when it comes to talking to an S type I don't think it's so much that they can't follow your logic so much as they will tend to focus on different info and vice versa. So for instance football is a sport I enjoy watching, I think because there's so much strategy involved.. should they run the ball or throw it? kick a field goal or go for the 1st down etc... S types I think focus on more specific info, such as individual players abilities/injuries etc. ... personally I feel like I'm retarded or ADHD when it comes to specifics about stuff like that.. I'm horrible w/ remembering names and info about specific players. I think where a lot of difficulties in communications come in is simply that difference in focus on info... when talking about the same thing you can focus on different info and assume that the other is focusing on the same info that you are when they're thinking about and talking about info that you're not even considering. For example in football I might think one team sucks because they make shitty play calls, whereas an S type might think another team sucks because they got a few of their main players injured. We might both be able to follow each other's logic, but we'd naturally focus on different info when making assessments.
