I've been working on that. My first method was stonewalling, which didn't work that well and made me feel miserable. My second method was stubborn opposition to their stupidity. That seemed to make things worse. After observing an INTJ dealing with one of said dumbasses, I have decided to adopt his method which is reassurance and empathy. I was surprised to see an INTJ do this but he seems rather adept at reassuring and empathizing with people when it's in his interest to do so. (Of course, my case specifically applies to coworkers and project managers.)

    Usually the limited contact.
When it's something of a droning on and one where you are seemingly trapped- it's an excuse to escape somehow.

Or if the topic is making you want to scratch your eyes out- so EASY to change topics on them. Like pick a topic you can handle easier and just throw it into the madness and they run with it. Meanwhile, in my head I am making my next grocery list and tuning them out.

    1. Shallow interaction.
    2. Limited interaction.
    3. Find any commonality and focus on spending time in that realm.
    4. Stop taking them seriously; this keeps me from being as annoyed.
    5. Flinging by trebuchet.
    6. Plotting elaborate torture rooms / deathtraps / embarrassing debacles involving esoteric elements like adamantium, Formula X, albino emperor penguins, trichobezoars from redheads, antique Swatches, and old Bic plastic razors, among other things.
    7. Develop sarcasm so dry and wry that I can insult them to their faces without them even realizing what I'm doing.
    8. Try to get them to do/believe/say even crazier things, just to see how far I can take them.
7 and 8 are easily my favorites. Why not turn the frustration into personal amusement?

This has always been my strategy.

I don't waste a whole lot of energy on plots or hating.

I got one really mad at me today because she asked if the book on a table belonged to anyone in the last 5 minutes of class. I informed her that the teacher would check serial numbers (seeing as how she had no current use for it). She got her panies in a knot that it was racial discrimination because I had assumed she planned to steal it. I would have come to the same conclusion regardless of the person.

Just keep your mouth shut long enough and you will get along without killing one another.

Question: How do you deal with your self? I mean, you can't avoid yourself.

I like to just lay it out there for them and be myself. People are different. I understand that, and if they can't then they likely have some growing to do.

If you're trying to call me stupid, i'd like to ask what kind of presumptive bullshit are you basing this off of.

Smile and nod. Then when they stop talking don't stop smiling and nodding. Keep going until they walk away. They won't talk to you again.
