    most people can't do that.
The shading is not shit! but if you want to improve, just practice. it's an
    attainable skill.
so my advice (unsolicited): do 100 variations without really dwelling on
any of them (ok, maybe 20 or 10 or 6) at first. expand a concept. like... its environment?
would love to see some blacker black in there. it is SO worth working with this! keep going.
    and stop fucking crying haha.
Thanks for the advice, I’ll come back to it at some point, I think. I did want to make it metallic with more contrasting shading, but I’m a newb. Practice indeed.

Oh, and fuck you, I’ll cry when I want to.

    You'd do good cartoons.

There's a book called "drawing with the right side of the brain" that's supposed to be great. I own it but haven't read it yet. It's my summer project.

Painting, in general, is easier for me, for some reason. But I want to draw more.

I know this idea may sound ridiculous, but it would be pretty interesting if someone were to follow it:

    -Get encyclopedia (or dictionary)
    -Close your eyes
-Flip through the pages and find the one you want
-Put your finger to the page
-Open eyes again and look at the word you are pointing to

-That word will be what you will try and aim to express through any type of artwork you are comfortable with/want to do.

When I'm in a rut, I usually decide to re-draw past drawings I have liked from years ago to see the difference in my drawing quality. It boosts my ego (doesn't make me feel as crummy as a drawer as I usually think I am) and helps me stay motivated to keep drawing when I see the improvement that took place during those years.

    Hope that helps.

I've been there too. Don't worry, creativity will never wear off. Stimulate your self with exciting possibilities, do the opposite of what you usually do or find something interesting to do. I'm more proficient in writing so when I got bored I'll read peoples books and criticize how bad it is and how I could do better, its good for confidence boost and to eliminate writers block. From your post it seems you are more into visual arts. Take a walk on a park, at mornings. Its always have a good feeling to it.

I'm a professional and freelance artist. My inspirations usually come from browsing other concept art, then my own imagination kicks in and warps it completely with the addition of my subconsciousness that it becomes unrelated to what even inspired me in the first place.

Going to places is great as well, places where don't come across every day and hold their unique beauty like old streets in Paris or the mountains in China, cityscapes, neon lights, staring at the stars. /shrug
