Functionally speaking, I'm very happy with the cards I've been dealt.

In terms of letters, ENTJ would be great. Then I'd be able to talk to people and get stuff done.

But the letters themselves are a load of crap. So, no, I don't wish I weren't an INTP.

I wish I was able to express my feelings/thoughts better. I usually freeze up, maybe it's an INTP quality or maybe it's just me.
    But no I don't wish I wasn't an INTP. We're good people. :p

I have to admit to being a little bit of a wannabe. Wouldn't trade my I or N for the world. F might be nice at times. But J would a huge help to me...

I've never once wished I wasn't an introvert or that I had more friends (in fact, I've consciously cut my circle down plenty of times). I don't have that sense that some INTPs seem to have that other people make no sense socially, although I do get exasperated with their vacuity and pettiness at times. And I don't care at all if people don't like me for being different, as long as they leave me be.
It's such a limiting way to look at yourself and the world around you that it's hard for me to relate as well. Of course, all people are prone to play the victim sometimes, but I've never looked at my situation as something I cannot control no matter how much I am my own worst enemy sometimes. Generally, it's easier for people to embrace you if you embrace who you are as well.

OP- you are in a slump and it's not because of who you are, but because of how you view yourself and the world around you. We've all been there. As soon as you realize you are in control of certain actions, then you will surprise yourself with certain capabilities that are in your possession. My problems mainly occur internally while in many instances I am able to put on a different face to the outside world. It's important sometimes to not let your internal conflict affect the way you are perceived externally or to delude yourself with negative internal perceptions that are not grounded in "reality" in relation to the outside world.

I think you are just a very secure, self-accepting INTP. It takes a long time for any type to adjust to their individuality. I still go through phases where I want to be more social but then as soon as I experience how burdensome it is to have to please everyone all the time, I will happily crawl back into my hermit-like habits.

Being an extrovert seems so wonderful if you are shy and socially awkward but it's just a grass is always greener mentality. The extroverts i know are just so dependent on social reinforcement and often get lonely when no one is around. I love that I can just spend a day to myself doing whatever the hell i want to do and never having to check in or plan anything with friends/family/SOs. It's fantastic!! Autonomy has it's perks,
I think the OP just has to get over how he/she isn't able to act and embrace reality.
INTPs are smart, individualistic, mild-mannered and really quite easily satisfied as long as we get alone time to be space cadets for a bit.
Just watching the kind of crap some of my extroverted feeling type friends bother themselves with is so exhausting!

A J preference is appealing because your tend to be more decisive rather than wishy-washy. Although, I do enjoy the fact that my opinions of people and ideas are susceptible to alteration as soon as i learn something new. That malleable view of the world around us is very agreeable.

God, I hope you're right on the first point. The second point is excellent. I think some introverts overestimate how secure and stable most extroverts are. If you've ever seen one go to pieces over some minor social white noise, you know that's not true.

I just want to shake INTPs sometimes and say "You are so interesting, so much more interesting than the people you imagine are happier than you are. Why can't you just accept yourself?" Especially the guys. Gaaahh.
