A song with a lot of reverb will make patters that stretch out in all directions and (like you said) maybe form sine curves or something, with the length of stretching based on the intensity of the reverb. If that makes sense. I do sometimes see colored patterns but that's more rare. And it's not spatially located "in my head", it extends beyond that. For me it's totally involuntary, and I tend to judge the worth of music based on how strong my synesthesia response is.

I really, honestly cannot imagine what "music" is to people who don't have synesthesia. Nothing special, I guess...
It’s true that the more I enjoy the piece of music, the easier it is to visualise it(so perhaps the reciprocal is true too). I love moonlight sonata for that, and that maenam song I posted in the listening thread. Anything with a piano and/or violin and plenty of minor chords it seems.

Well, damn, I actually searched for it with no results prior to creating the topic. Either I misspelled or the search engine is mocking me.

That's really interesting how you manage to use synesthesia in music, I wonder if any other practical application is possible.

I can only agree that Math is red there.
I think some synesthetic associations may stem from childhood images, like colored countries on the political map or the fact that As are usually colored red when children are taught the alphabet.

But the majority of my associations are completely unconscious and I can't explain them. I can also effortlessly label any word or letter with a color, not just the weekdays or school subjects. Individual letters are perceived by me with very definite colors. But a word's color mainly depends on which letters the word is composed of and which letter is perceived as dominant, there can be some conflict and multicolorness here.

I don't have synesthesia (I would really like to though )
I kind of want to make some sort of drug that will give you synesthesia, because it sounds so cool... ._.

However, I tend to associate songs with things.

L's Theme from Death Note is associated with math
Low of Solipsism (Death Note) is associated with "Hiroshima" by John Hersey, wounds, doctors, and searching for things
Lines by Tom Milsom is associated with the colours blue and green
We Are Electric by Mixtape Metro is associated with "The Search for WondLa" by Tony DiTerlizzi and AI

There's probably some others, but I would have to listen to all of the songs that I own to know what they're associated with...
which would, according to iTunes, take about a day. O.o

It already exists, it's called LSD. I read about an LSD-induced synesthesia experience in one of the above mentioned old threads.

    Best. drug. ever.*

That is a horrible thing to say about Thursday :(

I like the comic, being greedy - I wouldn't mind knowing what the other numbers would be, though I'd be satisfied with a good portion at least until 27.

I probably don't have synesthesia, although I have in the past linked colors to days and to months, but it wasn't a constant thing, nevertheless after knowing more about it, it's something I kind of wish I had and wouldn't mind if I did.

Oh yeah, and now that I remember I also did the same thing for years.

I know... but one that doesn't have the side effects and health risks...

    Yup.

I have so-called "concept maps", in which a concept with sequences has a sort of picture/shape/thing associated, with colors.
For example, my year is in the shape of an omega, and the months go clockwise, January being in the bottom left, December being in the bottom right. I also have a "map" for history.

My letters have colors, like A is yellow and capital Y is purple and lowercase y is red.

Music/sounds has colors and patterns. The "weirder" the music, the more intense the patterns are.

Guitar notes have colors and letters (D major is brick red, associated with the letter M).

Table tennis strokes have colors and a "place".

    Personalities have colors.

    And I think that's it...

Yaaayyy i have synaesthesia too! I had it more when i was a kid, but i thought it was ocd so i discouraged myself from indulging in it. I give things genders and personalities. So that numbers, letters, days of the week, months, etc. all have at least genders, and some have personalities too. :) I really wish i had the music synaesthesia too. i mean, i get it when i concentrate more, but it doesn't come as naturally as the personalities and genders. Also, i see/conceptualise time in the physical space around me. Also, emotions have colours. And oddly for me, the other day a particular sound had a very particular taste in my mouth (but this connection doesn't happen very often).
