Classic ENFJ mom guilt trip email.
Why don't you answer me? Are you trying to make me panic?

Just let me know you're okay -- everyone else has checked in at least once so why can't you?
    xoxo

INFP moms do that too. I think it's just a mom thing...

I went on a date with someone I met a few years ago. I'm guessing he's an NT -- perhaps ENTP, INTP, or INTJ... couldn't get a strong feeling either way. I'm learning more toward I/ENTP though.

It was so fascinating. After 6 months of "dating" an INFJ, the interaction was completely different. He was almost -- delightfully so -- cold, without being unaffectionate by any means. NFs are so gushy warm. It's like they radiate it and wrap you in this snuggly blanket of affection and concern all the time. And nearly all of my close friends are NFs, so I'm rather accustomed to that.

NTs are so different in their emotional expression. Like I mentioned, it's not unaffectionate, but it's not really warm either. Has anyone else noticed this between their NF/NT friends? How would you describe this hot/cold form of affection and attachment?

I prefer to work for the affection and remember the 2-3 max yearly compliments from an NT friend, to the totally boundless affection that I can tap into from the NF friend. When my INTP chick friend told me she liked our heart to hearts (with her head down sheepishly) I was dumb-founded because it was probably incredibly hard for her to admit.

This is probably a shallow way of describing it, but some dogs lick you non stop to show their affection without you even petting them. Others don't lick you unless you pet them (they sort of encourage more petting to keep the lick ratio more even), and then others barely ever lick at all and you can't really tell if it's licking out of affection or because they dig the way your salty hand tastes. When that dog licks you, you're sort of incredulous in a "What did I do to deserve that, type way?"

My deficit in marbles is more than made up for by the number of marbles I lack.

Life, why do you have to continuously keep me in a stalemate ? Checkmate my ass already !

    Thanks bro.

Last night I realized I can sit in the corner at a social event for hours and not talk to anyone... yet, people come over to talk to me. I don't even say anything, they get a smile and nod at most, yet they just talk. I wonder what makes some one continue to talk to some one who doesn't speak back? I suppose people have things to say, and it has to come out some way. I just don't know what to say when they look at me like they're expecting something. I have nothing to contribute because the topics aren't things I care about.

You have yet to master the art of invisibility young pupil...

Joking aside, maybe people just sense something about you that makes them open up for some reason. It's either a gift or a curse depending on how you look at it.

I think it might be that since I'm quiet it gives people a chance to vent. They can get anything off their chest, and don't have to worry about listening to some one else talk.

Ah I see. So us introverts are simply utilized as venting dummies... we surely serve a great purpose indeed >_>
