Go on, unleash how much mistyped INTP's drive you crazy. This is the place to rant. Tell us how these baboons get under your skin.

Oh, and no name calling or challenging people. Keep it anonymous. If you're going to brawl, brawl elsewhere, but make sure to invite me.

    Have fun.

Oh yeah thats another thing that pissed me off. (was just on the "what pisses of an INTP" thread)

IGNORANCE! I hate when people just assume things, or talk all knowledgeable like about subjects they know nothing of.

Stop masquerading as our type you MBTI noobs! Try actually typing your selfs instead of just reading the descriptions and picking the one you like! Being an INTP(or posing) doesn't make you smart!

    Dear darkso... *cough*... anonymous someone,

Why do you want to be an INTP so badly? Like when I asked you what 1 + 3 equaled, you almost said 4. But then you remembered that INTPs tend to complicate things and you asked for the definitions of 1 and 3 instead. Or when I caught you crying after you had learnt that your favourite American Idol contestant had just been booted out. You said it was because of the chameleon quality in INTPs and you were merely mirroring the dude who lived a few floors above you. Or how you try to hide the fact that you have 1,592 friends on Facebook, and they are all people you've met in real life. Or the stack of romance novels behind those hardly-touched physics textbooks on your shelf...

I can go on but I don't want to hurt your feelings.

    Take care,
    A friend.

Is this a pointed question for INTPs, specifically, or did you post it to all the type-forums? Do INFJs have some kind of impostor problem, right now?

Just curious...the question sort of strikes me as random.

My answer is this: I'm not too easily offended by "posers". I just think people naturally wanna' feel like they belong. And I'm not especially elitist, either---accusing someone of being fake is (IMHO) pretty arrogant. How should I presume to know who you really are? Especially with something as esoteric as typology. I admit, there were times when I doubted a user's INTP qualifications, but it's usually been based on my own aggrandizement and idealization of our type---so I quickly let it go. I have to remember that being INTP does not necessarily make someone super bright and thoughtful. Nor does it herald another hermit into the "loner clan".

I donno'. I don't think anyone does a whole lot of judging around here (that was not a dig at your [J]---I meant it in the broader, literal sense). So if someone came in and started insulting people, and making absurd, false statements, that had no clear relation to the topic at hand, he/ she might raise a few eyebrows. We try (for the most part) not to get personal, I assume because it is a weak stance for debate, and does not greatly advance our understanding.

INTP like learning for its own sake, and rarely engage in ego stroking/ stomping. If a "charlatan" says idiotic things on a regular basis, there is a good chance that most of the people around here would try to ignore him/ her---while secretly hoping he/ she shuts up, and moves on.

I only resent posers when they identify with the type so strongly they even take on negative characteristics to fit in and bash others, creating a bad name for INTP's. Obviously I have serious issues with those people. Otherwise, I'm flattered.

I don't really notice "posers" on here, mainly because if I read a post that doesn't interest me I will usually just skip over it before I even finish it, and if I keep skipping over their posts I'll never even know who they were to begin with. That isn't to say I dislike these people though. Like if an ISFJ mistypes as an INTP but honestly believes themselves to be an INTP than I don't mind. I'd definitely try and help them type themselves if it seemed they were mistyped, but they wouldn't bother me because we all misunderstand things from time to time (personality type journey- INTJ, ISTJ, ISTP, INTP, INFP, INTP.../facepalm). The only "posers" I get annoyed with are people who I suspect are trolls, and are trying to make a big joke out of the MBTI. I'm not "death-stare" angered by them, but I think they are very out of place in this environment and bring no positive qualities besides a possible troll bashing.
