I don't think it's math, but maybe just particular subjects. I say this because I'm horrible at math, but good when it comes to languages. In my English class, the teacher actually went over subordinators and coordinators. I'm thinking, "This is college. Surely everyone in this class should easily be able to know when it's appropriate to use "because," "so," "therefore," "however," etc.'" Boy was I wrong. Out of the 20 some students, only 2, including me, had no problems with this. I didn't understand it. Were not learning Japanese here. This is English; the first language 80% of the students in this class learned. There's no excuse. I'm sure many of you will say the same about math.

Was never particularly good at Math, because I couldn't focus on the small details (which unfortunately had a major impact on the final answer) -.-''

But yes, I understand what you mean.

There are times when a really simple concept is taught and everyone finds it really easy. But I'm confused, because I'm asking questions like "Why?" and "How?" because I can't accept that the answer is the answer "just because..."

There are other times when a concept is explained in great detail and everyone is perplexed. But I'm confused, as to why they're confused, because it makes perfect sense. Then there's people who ask really stupid questions (Yes, there are such things as stupid questions) focusing on irrelevant details which don't really matter, and it just annoys me.

I don't feel that way much. If I'm ahead of the class (like in French but not Math, ha!), then "Ah, well. I guess I shouldn't gloat.", but if everyone else is ahead "I should've done my Calc homework, this is jibberish"

And the way people explain it doesn't help, either. Class is all about WORDS. This is cool with French, because it's all WORDS, but in Math, we're working with concepts, and I NEED VISUALS for concepts, no matter how stupid or arbitrary they seem. Everybody else seemed okay without them. >_< They were all linguistically inclined, apparently.

I was like you in regards to math and other academic subjects. However when it came to physical things like how to do a certain dance move or the proper technique for using a tool, I was definitely the slow one.
