Necrophagist and Origin don't stand up to the mighty Lykathea Aflame. I was never a fan of Necrophagist, too much straight wankery... Origin are beast though.

Decapitated is awesome. I'd talked to Vitek online the week before he died, so I was really sad. He was a nice guy and we had a similar taste in music.

As far as death metal/grindcore goes, the champions overall definitely have to be Napalm Death:

I'd never listened to Fleshgod Apocalypse before, but they're damned good. I'm more of an old school death metal guy, not so much into technical/brutal death metal anymore, but I'm definitely going to download this shit. The vocalist reminds me of Nergal from Behemoth, and the instruments are pretty wild. The drumming is like Agoraphobic Nosebleed, only with an actual human at the helm.

Old school eh? So stuff like Death and Atheist I take it? I could never really get into that sound myself, although I don't mind Nocturnus (The Key album), which is said to be an extremely influential album for its time.

And no, I don't mean Death, but Atheist are good. I mean, Death are good too, but I could only get into the Scream Bloody Gore record. Atheist are consistently one of my favorite bands, but I don't listen to them much these days.

Mainly old school Swedish death metal, but Autopsy are infuckingsane.
