The long, boring thread... Please Read!

I’m just curious, but how many people felt like this when they read the tile of this thread?

I don’t know if this is my inherent laziness, INTP laziness, or something else but when I come across a long thread full of literary diarrhea I usually feel like posting “Concise and to the point dude!” and moving on. So far I’ve just moved on. I usually attempt to read the first few lines or so and then skip to the last line to see if I can find a point to the post. If I can't I'll just skip the thread. Does anyone else do this?

YES. I do! I really, really do!
And if the post is extra long, I wont even read it, I'll groan and quickly press back, and it's awful and I know.

Later, I'll try again with the same thread, and read the first sentence and get discouraged again.

However much I feel this way towards long posts though, I can never seem to manage just writing a short post myself. I always type a lot.

If I'm really into the thread, I love long posts. Funny, as we INTPs love conciseness, yet also love accuracy, causing us to use too many parenthesis for our own good, thus extending the paragraph to nauseating proportions.

Years of guilt gone! I always feel like a terrible forum community member because I usually only read the short posts :(

    Liberation!

Depends on the topic. If it is a topic of interest I would actually be very interested to read, not only the post but the source material too.

my reaction to the thread title:

    no.

but you see I read it anyway.

    so.

If I am interested in the subject, I don't care if the post is book-length. If i am only slightly interested in it, I scan through for the basic ideas.

Great thread! I was about to skip over it. In general, I dread long posts and skim over content where possible when reading them. Sometimes I'll make large posts when in a debate, but, I typically don't have the stamina or the attention span to continue.

It depends on my mood, sometimes I'm in no mood for long lagging posts, the other times I like to force myself to read myself through a massive wall of text...
