Now, I know very few INTPs will share my view on this as I am a type 8 which is pretty much unheard of for INTPs, but I am extremely attracted to conflict. It feels like I have little urge to control my environment, but I am obsessed with fighting for my environment. It often feels like I should have been born during major war eras (though if the middle east goes the way I desire it to go I may yet be in my proper era). I love the idea of someone trying to squash or subjugate me just so I can defeat them. As a person of jewish decent I am eligable to trade in my canadian citizenship and become israeli at any time of my choosing and I fully intend on doing so if world war 3 ever breaks out. Of the few people I've revealed this about myself to only one has not decided that I am sick and that's my cousin who is just as attracted to conflict as I am.

Are there any INTPs out there who are like me or am I indeed as rare as I'm led to believe?

well i like the whole nerd-apocolypse thing... I like the idea of fighting for my life in a zombie/alien/natural disaster scenario. War is kind of atractive in that epic cinematic way too... but i'd be scared to fight. I think it's pretty natural in all men to be worked up by conflict to some degree though.

I'm afraid to die, but I like to be afraid. It puts everything in scope. I'd imagine that I'd gain substantial scope over so many things about myself and human nature if I were to literally fight for my life and to hold absolute power over another mans life in my fingertips.

I am also immensely attracted to many aspects of the vietnam war. That whole loss of restraint and so much primal human nature surfacing is pornographic to me. The idea of jets flying over villages dropping a ton of napalm and flying off while civilian and militant alike burn is just fascinating to me.

I avoid conflict unless I have a good reason to deal with it. I prefer to end whatever conflict has arisen effectively and quickly. It certainly does serve a purpose at times, and typically I would prefer to handle it, over having someone else handle it, because I trust in my ability to do it correctly. Its just stressful, and I don't prefer that, when I could focus on something else.

An old friend of mine used to be like that when he was in high school and his Ne wasn't particularly well-developped. He's nothing like that anymore. Judging from your picture, you're still quite young, so that might pass with time and more Ne?!

Actually, I can sorta relate. If I feel I really, really, really have to defend something, I will, and nuts to conflict. I go all shaky and nervous, my whole brain screaming RUN, but it's just something I have to do, else I'll explode.

Whether I'd take up arms for it, well......dunno about that.

I can relate. I'm stubborn as hell and fiercely competitive. I get depressed when I can't argue my point around friends, usually because I know it annoys the crap out of them. It's hard for people to understand that I LIKE to argue, it's fun for me. A way of learning and if I raise my voice... so what? Call it passion.

I've always fantasized about dying a hero or for some great cause, defending something and helping others. But I'm 5w4 type. Maybe it's because I see it as romantic or because I'd be in the spotlight. Idk.
