Come on. You KNOW there are some.
How about the Star Wars prequels? I'd go on about how terrible they are, but perhaps Mr. Plinkett would better achieve that.

Every single one of them? The biggest one I can think of was Battlefield Earth by L. Ron Hubbard. The book is over 1000 pages and I thought it was a good story and fun read. The movie was so horrid you would be hard pressed to find someone that recommends it or owns the DVD.
Any Steven King book made into a movie. The Running Man comes to mind. The book has the running man as a prisoner let loose on society with a license to kill. They give him 10 minutes then a picture comes up on everyone TV with a live show like Americas Most Wanted. If I remember, you get prizes for seeing him and, if you kill him, you get a lottery jackpot that rises every minute he is alive and running. After so many hours he gains his freedom. The movie can only be described as based on The Running Man.
Clive Barker books also do not translate well to film. This is probably a lucky thing for the average movie fan![]()
Can't think of any off the top of my head, but I'm still pissed they moved High Fidelity to New York.
La Mustache. That fucking movie.
The Pebble and the Penguin
Eragon
Every Harry Potter movie past Chamber of Secrets
Most adaptations and remakes in general
The 1998 Les Misérables. So much rage.
Also The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I liked some parts, but the plot changes, Mos Def, Zaphod's head and a myriad of other things grate on my nerves.
I scoffed at Avatar's adaptation of Pocahantas, Dances With the Wolves, and probably countless other films. Yes, people find it visually amazing, but to me unique and well-executed plot elements give more weight to a movie's rating.
