    Double Check

Hey, i believe im an INTP so i thought i would get another opinion here.

First off i took the Jung Typoloy Test this said i was INTJ with I 83% N 100% T 63% and J 33%. This seemed to fit me somewhat, so naturally i wanted to check into it a little more. So i did a personal assessment here, after this i believe to be INTP. I was more reassured after some searching i found this which pretty much seems to describe me.

Though that first test still bugs me so i took some others such as the one at personalitypage.com and the one on this web site as well. Both of which gave me the result of INTP the one saying I 100% N 80% T 64% and P 70%.

So i guess what i want to know is if anyone else has had test tell them otherwise and how well does that description fit you.

My first few tests gave me INTJ (and one of them ISTP). If the description of INTP fits you better than the description of INTJ, you're probably INTP.

One crazy site had me ESTJ (purlease), most have me come up ISTP - which is fine, because my S and N are very close together. There are certain personality traits of ISTP which are me, I will admit, but most of my personality traits are pure INTP.

You know yourself better than any of these tests do. So if you think you are INTP then you are. Like an earlier post said you can have some traits of other types in you as well, for example he had some ISTP in him, I have some ENTP in me, it helps make us even more different :)

The tests are not necessarily accurate. In conclusion, your personality type may be inaccurately rendered, or you may be attempting to fit yourself into a personality type that you believe you may belong to, but in reality do not. Your other functions may also come into play, and bluffing the test is quite easy. I do believe I lied to myself on several counts, when my 'stereotyped' personality clashed with some of my other tendencies, but the overall impression counts the most even as small details cannot be forgotten.
    Molock thanked this post.

These psychometric tests serve as rough guides to behavioral preferences and are not completely accurate. The dichotomy of your archetype will vary and you may test as another type if you're balanced. I test INTP 1 out of 10 times but occasionally test as an INTJ because I have a low P.

Check out my last MBTI results over the course of months (there is a variance each time):

    First Time:

    (I) 96% (E) 4% (N) 77% (S) 23% (T) 95% (F) 5% (P) 68% (J) 32%

    Second Time:

    (I) 78% (N) 100% (T) 75% (P)11%

    Third Time:

    (I) 83% (N) 100% (T) 88% (J) 1%

Thanks, that makes things a bit more reassuring. I know nothing will be 100%.
By the way i like the 1% J you got on that last test Kilgore Trout.

Anyone take a look at the description i posted, i know it's long and boring, but i found it rather helpful and accurate, at least of me.

Well the tests are kinda bs imo. I do remember testing as an INTJ though.
The description you posted is my favourite INTP description out there (along with Keirsey's). Very insightful.

Yeah, I have some ISTP traits as well. The test is sort of like a guide, then you decide whether its conclusion on your type is right or not.

the problem with the online tests is that it's very tempting to answer the questions how you ideally see yourself, rather than how you really are. If you tested INTJ, then you probably answered the organization/deadline questions that you were more organized and scheduled than you actually are.
