Do any of you have kids?

If so, what personality type do you think they are? What personality type does their other parent have?

I have a 2 year old, so obviously it's a too early to predict with much accuracy, but I could see her being an INFP or INTP. My partner is INTJ, but so far I think her personality is more similar to mine. It'll be interesting to see how she develops as she gets older.

What about the rest of you?

I think when I was about 4 or 5 (pre-school) I figured out that Santa Claus wasn't real and made a big deal about my mom lying to me. She says I ruined Christmas for her (ESFJ). Maybe you'll be able to type your kid by the time she reaches that age.

I don't have any kids, but I do know you can influence their personality with their up bringing. I don't know to what extent though.

I think the idea of a family of intp' s would be the best.

I don't have kids and don't plan on ever having kids, but I do wonder sometimes if I did have a kid, what sort of personality it would have. pessimistically, I am sure it would be an ESF type and I wouldn't be able to relate to it at all (though I would try to understand it) and much heartache would ensue. but then I think it could also be an INT type and how interesting and fun that could be.

I have a 9 month old son. I can't really tell what type he is yet it's far too early for that. He's always observing everything and everyone. He rarely gets mad, or cries unless he's sleepy or falls. He really didn't babble much until about a month ago, and he only talks(baby talk) when he wants to.

I'm a single mother too, so the other parent isn't around. So it's just me:)

Ha. Funny that. I didn't "work it out" but when another kid told me (as they do) I thought "hey, it all makes sense now why when I wake up the stocking is full." Don't remember being angry about it or anything.

And anyway, who says Santa Claus isn't real?

Well, my parents seem to think that I won't have kids because I'll be too busy with traveling the world with my asain husband [such an odd thing really].

I'm not particularly partial to children, seeing as how illogical and annoying they are, but who knows. Perhaps that maternal instinct will kick in.

I think all kids tend to be kind of high on the Ne and Se qualities at first so it is difficult to type them. In my experience kids with Ni tend to be more fascinated with world around them that already exists - that would be xNxJ. And kids who are xNxP tend to be more affected by fiction stories. I liked fiction as a kid as well, but nothing could beat the world almanacs and books on the solar system, on plants, animals, medicine, that's the stuff I remember most vividly. Reading information that lets one adopt different perspectives would be of special interest to INxJ kids. I remember reading about how other animals and insects could not see certain colors and that felt like a significant piece of info for my 7-8 y.o. mind.

I have a child who is almost four. I think it is too young to type her because she's not yet "decided" which functions she will favor. Besides high Se-Ne, I see a lot of Te-Si.
