There is no god but I could be wrong. I think it's the safest position to take. I admitted I could be wrong, so if there is one, he/she/it can't be too mad at me.
I have a long and turbulent history with religion, however. I never liked church but had no problem engaging in online creation vs. evolution debates from 2002 on. Initially, I took the creation side... which only lasted until 2005, when I switched sides. I kept losing and saw that the evolution side had the evidence and I had none.
I always saw a conflict between science and religion – still do, in fact. Even from an early age, I saw a vast conflict. The events in Genesis, for instance, describe a literal creation... which doesn't line-up with the evidence, even when using the gap theory. For what it's worth, the whole Jesus thing is irrational
no matter how you look at it and
can't be reconciled with the evidence, the facts, and reality.
