I have been always wondering why some very intelligent people prefer listening to relatively boring / monotone music. Maybe that is because there are many different kinds of intelligence. Being very good in terms of logical-mathematical intelligence (for example)) does not necessarily mean that the person is able to cope with and enjoy complex music, although there is probably some correlation.

Would I be correct in assuming this is the branch of prog rock which the likes of Hawkwind inhabit? If so, I also like that sort of thing, even if it is, from an objective point of view, not very good.
