    Post anything

This is for all things you want to share but don't know where to post them. Could be sad, happy, boring, deep, funny, insightful, random, mindless, etc.

I decided the other day to try to get a concussion. So I banged my head against a tile wall several times. Woo.

There is one of those Electronic construction sign things by my local Red Lobster.

I want to change it to say "Red Lobster did 9/11" or something equally inflammatory.

I want to make that. It would have to be veggie sushi, but there's a lot I could do with that.

Making a thread is like fishing. If you have interesting bait, the posts will come.

No work today! Makes me want to see Tom Cruise electrocute Oprah... but where would one get something such as that? Oh, wait.

    Anything? Fine.

Random Ruminations on the Nature of Time

Time cannot be seen with a human mind.
The human mind is used to visualize the same way it looks out at the world, through the eyes, from a first-person viewpoint. Try to visualize seeing something with a wider view than 180 degrees. You can't. You might think you can, distancing your mind's view from the imagined object and visualizing its surroundings in a perfect expanding sphere; but you've only shifted your own viewpoint. You still can't do it. And to see time, you must.

Time is... a networkception. With corridors, tunnels. Converging and diverging at points within the 3D lattice framework that one imagines to be the space one can see, changing and moving in 4D (at the least!). To see it, one needs to be able to see above, below, left, right, front and back simultaneously, across the layers of physical existence. One would also need to see its pattern and flow, from past to future (or vice versa, depending on which way time is facing), as both collide and collapse into the prism of the moment we call the present.

This is part of the reason why predicting the future is so difficult; time takes too much time.

Which reminds me of a song.
