    Vibes: Sensing or Intuition?

This morning when I was at church, I got a strange feeling. This man sitting in front of me was giving off a horrible vibe. It was so strong I almost left. I later asked my mother if she had felt anything like that. In short, she hadn't. Normally I don't "feel" such things this strong. I'm sure this has happened to me at some point in the past, but I can't recall. This got me thinking if my intuition was in full swing. At the same time, I figured a sensing attribute would be more keen to such an event. It was an uneasy sensation and my heart was beating faster. I was becoming a little anxious. This also got me thinking about vibes in general. Are vibes caused by misalignment in oneself? Or is it a judgmental subconscious?

When I "feel" those kinds of vibes strongly, I think it is normally my Se acting with my Fi and then my Ni. But Ni only comes into play when trying to figure something out... typically.

And this type of event is normal for me so I don't think it's a misalignment (at least for me).
Perhaps, Dark Flare and Cetanu thanked this post.

Intuition. This evolutionary tool cannot be rationalized, but it serves people well. It serves me well.

Any time I ignore my intuition, I pay the price. This occurs when I cannot reason an intuitive signal.. I'd be unwise to discount an intuitive feeling. I am highly observant. I think of my highly tuned intuition as a huge tool, a gift many people aren't blessed to have. Intuition, saves me.

I do think people confuse intuition and paranoia.

Some people call it hyper-vigilance, however. It still serves me well. If it serves you, don't discredit it. Ever.

TBH, it's your emotional subsystem picking up vibes subconsciously. And I'm not talking about Fi which is a cognitive function. Not everything we experience is related to cognition (see some of the work by Robert Zajonc, Jeffrey Gray, and Joseph LeDoux among others that talk about the neurobiological underpinnings of emotion).

As @lightened mentioned paying the price for ignoring his intuition, I have to admit I am the same. I can usually tell what sometimes like just by looking at them.

Consciousness works in layers, inability to articulate knowledge does not mean knowledge is not there.

Here's a theory for you given your brain connects experiences based on previous relationships. As a result your brain when activating those connected regions can incidentally create connected paths based on those previous relationships, even though you cannot define them, which you perceive as a vibe or feeling. Think of the neural activation as pings from a center, the pings wave into one another and combine, a feeling is at the center of the pings wakes.
