    Stalking

So, do INTJs have a problem with this?

I can be quite the stalker for people I think are just hot. Meaning, I will stalk their Facebook and if it is on private I will use my fake account and befriend their friends. Then, I usually look through their interests and shit. Then I memorize their trivial information such as favorite bands. The next day, I will find a friend and when I get close to the person I stalk, I would purposely talk about their favorite band to provoke them into joining my conversation. I will then proceed to looking more into the interests and so on and so on until I get bored.

However, I really only do this because I can't start conversations directly. I get too nervous and sweaty for that type of stuff... Even if I do get sweaty and nervous whenever someone I don't know talks to me...

I don't stalk people but I've had my share of people stalking me. I made a thread about this a couple of years ago actually.

I had a drunken one night stand after a nasty break with an ex and he ended up a nightmare. He pretty much moved into my wood shed. I ended up leaving the state.

Another guy used to hang around outside my flat and arrange lovely messages in pine bark at my door (a pentagram and you die underneath it one time). He'd then come to my place of work and repeat conversations I had with my boyfriend in the shower. Awesomely embarrassing!

Another who was reported to lie outside my room (when I was running a pub) on the floor looking in.

Online there was another guy who followed me from forum to forum that he knew I was involved with and hinting everywhere possible that he was intimate with me.

Fuck, I'm nothing special....but I seem to have a freak magnet.

No. Sometimes I'll google their email address or their name just because I'm way too curious if anything hilariously interesting will come up, but other than that I know better. I like learning things from the person themselves and researching them like that just leads to false judgements.

My ex girlfriend did this. She did it to both men and women. She thought they were interesting but said she wouldn't necessarily want to talk to them. Almost as if they were fancy glasses or ornaments you may find along the road.

Nah, I'm not into keeping wads of people's hair.

I do this, not usually out a desire to talk to the person, but just out of curiosity, and typically not to romantic interests either. "Stalking" is actually how I originally became interested in MBTI (long story there). You can turn up a lot of interesting material. For example, my personal favorite "stalking" anecdote was a few years back when I discovered one of the admins of a forum I regularly visited belonged to a pedophilia site and had made a number of, um, questionable, posts. What really put it over the top was that the dude was a high school teacher, he got trolled out of the forum within a week.

Depends on who's stalking me, and what for. I mean, if they want to harvest my organs no thanks.
I myself can be frustratingly manipulative though, so no judging.

Jeez that's so much work and slightly creepy. I'd just smile and say hi...

Not physical stalking - although, like @bethdeth I have been stalked numerous times.
If someone intriques me, then I will do extensive research on them, but only with a view to getting a fuller picture of them in as short a time as possible.

I find it difficult to "solve a person" via fb only as its not indepth enough to reveal how their mind works. The people that I've successfully figured out (mbti/enneagram) were the ones that I worked with over time and had generally longer free form conversations with. The easiest function to figure out is usually the perceiving one as one can see by the direction of each convo. The thinking/feeling function is sketchy as these are "masks" that people put on. However as convos get deeper and they become more comfortable, the masks generally fall off and their true nature is revealed. The trick is to stear the convos into those territories which involves to some degree empathy/knowledge of mutual subject areas to build trust.
