Do you have any compulsive tendencies?

For example, if I notice something out of place in my room, I go off and organize everything for hours.

Do any of you have similar experiences?

I have to wash my hands after:

    Touching a doorknob
    Railing
    Touching any handle in general

And I rinse off all the things I eat off of before using them.

I've noticed it's not so much about cleaning as it is about organization.

Also, as a kid I would count the steps on each foot. And if I stepped on a crack with one foot, I would have to step on a crack with the other. It always had to be balanced.

Step on a crack, break your mother's back? lol

I clean when I am stressed or anxious. Organizing appeases something else in me. I'm not sure what though. Just a touch of OCD I suppose.

This is usually a coping method. It's something a person can occupy themselves with to get their mind off of whatever they may be dealing with.

Well, that's the thing. I completely lose track of time organizing because I am lost in my own little Ni world, trying to work something out. Perhaps it's just busy work to keep my body occupied while I need to make some heavy decisions. I always got more out of lectures if I was doodling.

Well that's good if it helps you in that way. I think it is helpful to do something with ones body while they think, it keeps from getting restless. But I too always draw when in school.
