I predict too, but mine is immediate, I'll know what a person is going to say a second before they actually do. It gives me time to prepare a response very quickly, usually annoyingly.

It's just reading people (body language, tone, their personality) for me, comes in handy.

I think on the spot anyways.

I do this for everything: what would I do if someone asked me a particular question, or if I had to give a presentation today, or if I had to unexpectedly go to the hospital? Conversations are just part of that planning to me and often, I can manipulate the conversation to go where I want because I've planned ahead. Not really psychic.

This future planning came in handy earlier this year when I had to be taken to the emergency room in an ambulance for the first time in my life. Having anticipated this possibility, I had entered emergency contact numbers into my phone so that my anyone could find them easily if I was incapable. The moment it happened, my colleague was able to call my whole family to let them know! It worked great but I hope I never have to use it again.

Yes, I do this all day long.
Maybe this is why we are sometimes portrayed as pessimistic: we spend all this time thinking about how things could be and our realism tells us all the things that could go wrong as we try to plan the correct way to do or say things. Then when people ask us our opinion or tell us about something, we are more likely to have a cautionary response composed since we have already been warning ourselves about whatever the other person just said. As a result, they think we automatically jump to the worst case when we are really just sharing part of our constant mental process.

Also, we all do this to some extend when we are explaining stuff. Generally (i would assume, but maybe this is just a Te thing), when people are explaining things, they try to formulate their expectations to anticipate possible responses. Otherwise they would always be taking questions about what this term means of why that thing is relevant and the explanation would be fruitless or at least extra laborious.

I'm always thinking of things in my head before they happen. I used to get all paranoid about it like I was some psychic seer but then I came to reality and realized that my future oriented mind likes to predict future events and then prepare before them. It gets me into trouble when I don't trust it or if I don't pay attention to it. It's like subconscious but still accessible yet distant to grab at. Maybe that makes me an INTP since I can't quite grab at the Ni. INTJ's could be deadly. I wonder if some of you have Ni so strong that you are mainipulating and willing your own realities by having the foresight to see the future events and then to alter them based on your liking.
I didn't think anyone else did this i know based on past experience what they will say like i talk to them across a table. I also like the lead them down different path. That is weird just when i thought i was different only just to know that i'm a carbon copy.

As I have some INTJ preferences, I always do this too. It's very annoying sometimes. I imagine conversations that might happen, will probably happen, and those that I wish will happen and yes it's kind of like rehearsing and preparing, like if they said this I will respond with this, and if they say that I will say this. It seems like a never-ending pattern of different conversations at once and all the possibilities. There seems to be a constant conversation in my head all the time, esp at night, I have to blank my brain and listen to the tick tock of the clock so that I can bring my mind back to the present and fall asleep. My brain cannot settle unless things are settled and decided.

Most times I can predict what people will say or act, in the moment or in the future - how they're going to react with certain situations.

I will usually have an idea what will happen in a conversation before it happens too... I will devise a rehearse conversation with the most logical outcome which my opponent (?) will come up with....usually they are not so logical and I am always surprised by it....

I usually predict what can go wrong in a scenario....silly humans!!

Love it when I'm surprised by unexpected outcomes....restores faith in humans

I don't enjoy rehearsing conversations of a personal nature because then I get bored when they actually take place. It's as if I silenced the inner voice to enjoy the unexpected.
But I have always used this skill to anticipate questions during university exams, work interviews, meetings and other work-related situations, so that I can prepare a solid answer or defensive line in advance.
As regards planning in general (what would I do if... what would happen if...) I do that all the time on the basis of multiple scenarios and sub-scenarios. Like all INTJ it seems

I rehearse a lot of conversations in advance. It just goes along with the chessboard mind... plan out strategies, and watch them play out. Not all of them come off as planned, but most do. The funniest thing is when I can prattle off an entire scene of a movie or play, and have it be in context. Being an INTJ is funny.

Same. I just caught myself doing this twenty minutes ago. It's just as well because the results can be unsatisfactory if social situations require me to think on my feet...and one-on-one conversations sometimes do require it.
