While I can live without music at times, I do tend to enjoy having music play when I'm at work doing my own thing separate from everyone else. I'll admit to some songs resonating with me enough that I probably have various physical manifestations that come when I hear part of them. When it comes to types I can almost be all over the map and I think I had about a 4,000 song library at one point in time. Rather than try to list individual songs where the count could easily get into the thousands let me rattle off some of my favorite albums in alphabetical order:

A Fever You Can't Sweat Out by Panic at the Disco!
Auf Der Maur by Melissa Auf Der Maur
August and Everything After by Counting Crows
Automatic for the People by R.E.M.
Be Not Nobody by Vanessa Carlton
    Becoming X by Sneaker Pimps
Broken Boy Soldier by the Racounteurs
    Celebrity Skin by Hole
Death and All His Friends by Coldplay
    Elephant by White Stripes
    Finally Woken by Jem
    Gran Turismo by The Cardigans
Head Like a Hole by Nine Inch Nails
    Hot Fuss by the Killers
    Hotel Paper by Michelle Branch
    Icky Thump by White Stripes
Left of the Middle by Natalie Imbruglia
    Let go by Avril Lavigne
Long Gone before Daylight by The Cardigans
Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by Smashing Pumpkins
    Mirrorball by Sarah McLachlan
    MTV Unplugged by 10,000 Maniacs
    MTV Unplugged by Nirvana
    Nevermind by Nirvana
    No Angel by Dido
    Ophelia by Natalie Merchant
    Out Of Time by R.E.M.
    Play by Moby
Return of Saturn by No Doubt
    Siamese Dream by Smashing Pumpkins
    Ten by Pearl Jam
Tuesday Night Music Club by Sheryl Crow
    Version 2.0 by Garbage

    Soundtracks worth noting:
    Cruel Intentions
    Garden State
    Love Actually

That being just scratching the surface if that even...

I listen to a lot of Rise Against because their lyrics flow really nicely with their melodies. All I really care about is the melody.

I can't listen to music when I'm sitting down - ever. When I listen to music I have to stand up and walk around and move or be in something that's movie (car, train) otherwise my mind gets backed up. Music ignites fantasies for me and I can not fantasize whilst sitting.

I enjoy dark, precise, industrial-like tunes. Many times I'll head toward progressive rock genre'd bands or even nice, slow, melodic songs. I enjoy bands with lyrics that relate to my views of the word and humanity, though I stray from the norm once in a while. I do enjoy orchestras. Especially the epic god-jingles.

    A Perfect Circle
    Pain of Salvation
    Marilyn Manson
    Nine Inch Nails
    Black Light Burns

    E.S. Posthumus
    X-Ray Dog
    Nobuo Uemetsu Compositions
    Harry Gregson-Williams Compositions

Anything chill. I find that music can help me process, so I do not like anything too distracting. My top five artists / bands at the moment:
    1) Paolo Nutini
    2) Mumford & Sons
    3) The National
    4) Lissie
    5) The Black Keys

Currently I am listening to "Welcome Home" by Radical Face.

I've been blessed with the circumstance of having 3 hours(total) bus rides every school day. My cheap MP3 keeps my thoughts active. :D

I go quite a bit by lyrical quotes:
"Let the flame inside always stay, IGNITED WITH BURNING CONVICTION!!!"
    "Perseverance, against all opposition"
    "Pure strength through solitude"
    "Discipline and determination!"

    All Hatebreed but they conquer.

I am not usually a lyric person, but these are lovely:

Do you still believe in all the things that you stood by before?
Are you up and on the front lines
    Or at home keeping score?
Do you care to be the layer of the bricks that seal your fate?
Or would you rather be the architect of what we might create?

I also listen to a lot of background music. I really like the music from Neon Genesis Evangelion, Alan Wake, and Eureka Seven.
I love listening to music. I never leave the house without my iPod. I can't stand silence, but I don't like the radio. I listen to a lot of alternative. I just started listening to British Folk. Mumford and Sons are great so far. I can't listen to mainstream music, and I dislike rap. I can listen to loud music, but I prefer calmer music like alternative to punk or rock.
