My brother is an INTJ (I'm an ENFP.... complete opposite of him) and he always tries to sound so sophisticated and snooty. It drives me insane, and he seems sort of uptight sometimes. How can I loosen him up? (And yes, I can carry on an intelligent conversation, thanks much. I'm an ENFP, not a vegetable.)
Do not try. Learn to appreciate him for who he is, and then he will unwind. Guaranteed. That is what works for people trying to unwind me. When a person tries, I see right through it and block their every effort. When they finally accept me for who I am, on my terms, then I am more 'free' with them.

What would you do?/ How will you respond to a situation like that? XD

"Sure." /me continues to eat and read her book.

Being a hispanic minority, I already see society in this fashion.

On a scale of porcupine to bunny, how cuddle-y are you?

Because when I spent the night with my INTJ (not in ~that~ way), he was a full-scale 10 Cuddle Bunny.

I was surprised because I did NOT expect that out of him. It was borderline smothering, though incredibly sweet at the same time.

Is that the Se making an appearance?

With people I love, I am an 11. With people I know and care for, I am a 5. With people I detest, I am a -5. The negative denotes space around my person, ie, the bubble.

I'm having this problem because I'm interested in way too many things.

Nope! People have always wondered in awe at my decisiveness.

I've heard of someone using threats in an attempt to bend an INTJ to his will. INTJ sat down on the ground and defiantly took the threatened consequences. It would've been a badass move if the issue at hand wasn't so pathetic, but it shows how important it is to us for our opinions and wishes to be accepted.

Don't try to break down an INTJ's walls. You'll never get in, and we'll laugh at you for neglecting to try the door.

I had trouble at first but I figured it out after a lot of thinking. I spent two years thinking about it and mapping out everything. By the time I graduated from high school, I was all set.

I think this is why INTJ really "adored" me. He knew i wouldn't try and "change" him, knew i respected who he was, and gave him his space. He knew there would be no judgment from me in almost any given situation, only trying to understand his logic. (granted, if he said he was a serial killer or something, that'd be a whole diff ballgame) But I can tell you right now, I still had my own opinions and ideas. People have to learn that you cannot change who someone is, so you either put your big girl panties on and deal with it, or you don't. There are different levels of tolerance in all types.

he was very affectionate when he wanted to be. it was very suprising to me. cuddling always threw me off about him.

    i miss all that...

I have an INTJ who constantly likes to mock fight with me, it's really funny when we pretend argue.

I asked him why he does it all the time, and he tells me because it keeps things interesting. He says if we get along all the time then it's boring.

Do you guys find yourselves doing things like this too?

Yes. I absolutely love seeing how much I can mess with other people. Playing devil's advocate and having fun playing with logic and arguing is always entertaining. :B

I do this all the time, and I'm fortunate enough to have friends that play along with me because for most people who don't know me it's hard to tell whether I'm serious or joking. I also do things like this so I can get a better idea of who takes things too personally and who knows how to take a joke every once in a while.

MBTI: To know myself. It opens the path to cognitive functions, and allows me to understand why I have so much trouble communicating...
