The mind outlet of an INTJ

It is not easy for the INTJ to express their internal images, insights, and abstractions. The internal form of the INTJ's thoughts and concepts is highly individualized, and is not readily translatable into a form that others will understand.
I read this in an article called "Portrait of an INTJ" and found that it easily applies to the way I create art.

To me, different forms of art are outlets for my thought patterns and overall mind structure. Even if the art I produce is usually just as complex and oddly distant as my thoughts, it is an experimental and progressive way for me to try and communicate it.

When my post count reaches 10, I'll post a link to my art showcase website.

Do you have an outlet for your abstraction? If so, please do share, and be sure to elaborate!

I draw pictures and write stories, but I don't show anyone my sketches and I never write the stories down.

Writing things about the hardships of my life in a journal would probably be thebiggest mistake of my life. I suspected my father read a couple of pages and he asked me if I wanted his help. I burned the journal immediately. So now I deal with things internally.

This is absolutely correct. Because of the complexity, translation is tremendously difficult. If I was an IPO ( Input-Process-Output ) machine, Input and Process will be at 100% efficiency, while Output will be probably at 10% at most.
As for my " outlet", I write seemingly illogical scientific theories, philosophical journals, or just scribble till I get a drawing when I'm bored. I don't let anyone see them though. The horror is inconceivable.

Language is the only way I know how to express what I see in my mind and the world around me. I write fiction layered with metaphors. Usually, I am the only one who sees my writing. If I am writing for a class or public consumption, I scrub the deeper meanings from the story. Sometimes I will allow someone I trust to read an unsanitized version but not often. It is like lying naked before them, handing them the poison-tipped blade, hoping they won't use it.

Below, part memory, part fiction, all metaphor:

We ran through the halls, slamming against walls, in the fitful strobe-like fluorescent light. We stumbled into a large room, empty and unmarked except for a single demon and blood spatters. I shrieked, a giggling girlish hysterical sound that made the creature smile. He advanced. His shoulders hunched as he crouched, his clawed hands extended to grab me. I darted behind you, using your solid body as a shield. I heard you laugh. I could hardly believe you found this amusing. You turned toward me and wrapped your cloak shrouded arms around me. Claimed me. I buried my face against your chest and no longer saw the hell around me, no longer smelled the blood.

I used to draw what was on my mind and allow others to see it. But it became apparent that they found it disturbing, and so now I keep those to myself and simply make "acceptable" images if they have to be seen by anyone else.

haha these responses are hilarious. I write in a journal, though I don't write down any specifics about events, just generalizations that apply to the lesson I took from the situation. Never been big on leaving a paper trail. I do this mostly to have revelations and important life lessons I have managed to take from things written down, for reference. I suppose it could be considered an outlet...
