An INTJ who cares what people think about them? Is there such a thing?
*facepalms* ...
While I feel very confidant of my intellectual abilities, I'm terribly insecure about my social ones. I'm always fishing for approval and have serious issues with rejection. And yet, other than not having a thick skin, I meet the descriptions of an INTJ.
(Which I suppose means I can dish it out, but not take it.)
Well, a little bit, mostly on the positive side, and mostly from a select few. If an expert in the field claims I'm doing something good, yeah, that does help a bit. So I wouldn't say no. Just 95% less than the average ESFP.
The remark could be taken in two ways:
An INTJ who cares what specific people think about them!
Yes, we exist. In fact, I don't think there is a single INTJ who doesn't care what specific individuals think about them.
An INTJ who cares what people in general think about them!
It's possible. It's very rare to find someone who is completely closed to meaningful interaction with other people.
But, most of us don't openly admitt to caring about the general populous' opinion of us.
A facepalm, it seems, is generally awarded to posts that contain, or have the possibility of becoming, an inflamatory subject. In it's preemptive form, it implies the action of covering one's eyes and nose with one's hand, tilting the head forward slightly and slowly shaking the head whle saying something like, "here we go again, I dont want to see the outcome of this!"
I have a few VERY close friends that I hold in a very high regard and they hold ME in a very high regard.... I care what they think.
As far as the rest of the population and people who don't actually know me?
Why worry?
If I cared, it'd be out of intellectual curiosity.. not ladder climbing ambition. Someone needs to be outside the chains of approval, and I think it's better if we stay that way.
I worry very much what people think of me... Even people I don't kno..
Wait! Who left this thing on?
*Sarcasm mode: OFF*
Seriously though, I don't care much either way, but when my self-esteem is particularly bad I know what people think of me already.![]()
