    INTJs, do Seasons change you?

So, this is something I was wondering about today, while I was talking to a fellow INTJ (greetings to him at this point =P)

Do you *loosen up* during Summer and somehow get more relaxed and maybe even a bit *less productive* than during the rest of the year?
Or do you notice any seasonal changes about yourself that keep repeating (more or less) each year?

I am primarly intersted in my fellow INTJs replies, but of course, other types can comment too, if wished. =)

I actually have noticed cyclical changes.

My activity increases along with my energy during the summer months, but my actual productivity (quality thereof) decreases. Likewise in winter, the quality of my work and the pleasure I take in activities greatly wnhances, whilst summer is a form of mobile enuit..

I have a greatly higher sexual drive during summer and spring months, whilst I am much more involved with interpersonal relationships during the autumn and winter months (I suppose it is caring).

Elation and Depression are heightened in the Summer months. Mood is consistent and stable in the autumn months.. Indifference presides in the winter months and spring brings euphoric halcyon days..

These could be reflective of a certain degree of inverted Seasonal Affective Disorder.. Yet there is little to indicate it is a sever case.

Now I am even more curious to see if other INTJs have made the same observations, or if it is an *overall* thing. I sure share a lot of the things you said.

    It's something along those lines.

    Summer:
more loosened up; more jumpy (therefore more likely to not work so much; or at least with way less pressure aka more chilled); a little more talkactive, yet detached from people. Stronger sex-drive as well.

Fall: HIGHLY productive and perfectionistic. Working day and night with no breaks; forgetting about needs sometimes. Total wish to create.

Winter: Totally introverted and highly pensive. Detached and either taking a lot of me-time by watching movies; researching and / or working. Total hunger of intellect.

Spring: Restless like Hell. Jumping up and down and somehow going nuts; no clear stability; many changes, but can also be quite random and a mix of other seasons. Total wish for stability.

Now is that just us INTJs? I would think not, but then again, who knows.

Summer: I tend to spend more time out doors going to the beach and walking in the evenings. I also appear to be a lot happier and out going. I spend less time on the internet and less time on my work- very unproductive season for me. Sexual energy is also higher during these months.

Fall: Season of creativity. I do a lot of painting during these months and dancing.

Winter: I tend to be very melancholic during winter, more withdrawn also. These are the months when I try to establish friendships online. I spend a lot of time in bed with my lap top and books.

Spring: Manic months! Lots of cleaning and new energy. Starting projects left right and center.

Spring: Spring makes me nervous. It's volatile and unstable, and I can always smell summer coming (not good in my book). Plus there's the added frenzy and stress of finals and end-of-year assignments being due in school.

Summer: Summer makes me cringe. I can't stand the heat or the brightness, and I don't like to tan. It's like I have reverse SAD - I have memories of migraines in the summer from the sun. I keep indoors and mostly just be lazy, especially because there's no school (except for one relaxed class, usually). I'm not a complete bum, but I do play more video and computer games. There is one thing I like about summer, besides no school: indoors, it's cool and dark and all the ceiling fans are all going, and at night we turn on the enormous attic fan (noisy but I like it).

Autumn: I become very hungry, intellectually. I do a lot of internet research, I read a lot of books, and I throw myself at the new school year. I generally am very relaxed but I also have a lot of boundless energy. It's nice to watch all the heat and brightness of summer fade away. I love rainy days. I can spend all day inside working feverishly.

Winter: My focus turns inward. I become very introverted and spend more time on craft projects. Last winter, I spend nearly all my time in my room. I took my bed apart and put it back together in a new location, painted my walls, and organized absolutely everything. I also began a handmade mask collection. My attitude is very similar to my attitude in Autumn, but a bit more secluded and laid back. I also watch more TV and movies. Oh, and christmas just stresses me out.

As you can see, school influences my attitude toward the seasons somewhat. It'll be interesting to see how this changes once I am all done with school and I have to go get a real job. No summer breaks - I bet I'll absolutely loathe summer.

This post was a bit longer than I intended. Oh well.

There are certain characteristics to each season that for me are where my interest lies:

Winter: Christmas-time and over holidays occuring over the next few months as these tend to be one of the challenging seasons for me weather wise as those -40 mornings just aren't quite that much fun. Snow is more likely in this season which can cause driving issues. Not a big fan of this season but I tolerate it none the less. Various entertainment awards and Super Bowl tend to be some dominating events of this season for me along with Feb. sweeps on TV.

Spring: Now this is where some things improve. My birthday is in this season but this is also winter's aftermath season where depending on what kind of toll it took this can be all over the map. May sweeps along with Hockey and Basketball finals come in this part of the year.

Summer: This is where things tend to swing too much on the high side. The heat can make me sluggish and thus I'm not a big fan of this season compared to others like Spring or Fall. TV gets wonky at this time of year and some other social things seem to go off the rails at times, but that's the way things go.

Fall: Once again, there is something to be said for dealing with the aftermath of summer here. Also, there can be those cold mornings where it feels like winter came early. This one like Spring is in the land of seasons that are better than the extremes but not by a lot for me.

Thus, I notice seasons and can correlate my temporal existence with the rest of the universe, but I'm not sure they change me as much as I'm just reacting to them. Lastly, it can snow in any month here and Chinooks can make those cold seasons not quite that cold at times so the seasons can happen in a couple days here sometimes that can annoy some people.

I have found changes in my behavior based on the weather, but I've always attributed it SAD.

Winter: I'm actually very productive in the Winter and tend to be most creative during this time. I've always preferred the cold though.
Spring: I do well during most of the Spring, but start to be less productive towards the end of it.
Summer: These are my dead months. I can't focus or concentrate at all during the Summer and its maddening.
Fall:I begin to go more into project mode and start shutting myself off from people. I see nothing wrong with it but it's usually when my friends begin to voice concerns that I'm retreating.

Winter: I love winter, the cold, the rain. My favorite time of year, thus my most creative time of year.

Spring: is more like the tail end of winter and the beginning of dreaded summer.

Summer: is just a long drawn out period of back pain and tension headaches (both of which are spurred by excess heat) and low creativity, thus low productivity outside of work. Late night bike rides and occasional Bon fires at the beach are all it's got going for it.

Autumn: is more like the tail end of summer and the eventual beginning of the rainy season, then comes beloved winter.

No, I'm pretty much static. Well, I suppose Im most productive in school at the start of the fall and just after the winter break, and least productive just before the winter break, and just before summer break... though that has little to do with actual seasons, and more to do with the flow of school, and I work during the summer because thats when I don't have school.
