    The INTJ Pet Thread

    By request from @being :

I hereby introduce you to the INTJ pet & critter thread. Please post pictures and biographies of your furry, feathery, scaly, slimy, leggy, poisonous critters in this thread.

Let's compare notes! Do all INTJs own snakes? Do all INTJs grow blind scorpions in the basement? Do all INTJs prefer evil cats to loyal dogs? Do we herd said cats? Are we successful at it? (I am guessing yes, yes, and yes...)
If I knew how to create a poll, I might have done that, but alas... I am lazy.

    Up first:
My female bunny Bubba, who my husband refers to as "the little black bunny with the little black soul":

and my male bunny Princess (who is now gone... :-( )

I'll post pics of our pet parrots once I have hours of free time. (We have waaaay too many parrots for a quick paste pic'n post...)
Surreal Snake, beth x, Duo and 15 others thanked this post.

Ah, I've been curious about getting one of those for a couple years now. What do you feed him?

Yeah that was for Halloween! His name is Beau. Everyone wanted me to name him Gizmo though, because of his ears.

Crickets. Lots of crickets. He will eat about 25 at a time, and he'll be ready to eat again a few hours later. The rule of thumb is that whatever they eat should be less than the width between their eyes. Here's his tank. (My camera phone doesn't have the dynamic range to handle his heat lamp without washing him out.)

Nice setup. Do you breed the crickets for him or buy in bulk?

We don't actually feed him as much as he's capable of eating. We get crickets at the pet store as needed. Younger dragons need more, but we bought him last year on craigslist when he was 10-11 inches long. My buddy has three small ones, and he orders crickets in bulk (1,000 or so at a time). When they get older they need fewer crickets and more greens since they are omnivores. He gets crickets one day, greens the next, and nothing on the third. Then repeat.

my son the hopelessly smitten cat-whisperer who's been deprived of a pet since ours died went and housesat someone's dragons last year. i asked him what they were like.

    him: pretty adorable.
    me: *blip**blip**blip* really?
    him: well, for reptiles.

i don't think intps parse 'adorable' in quite the same way i do.
    Swede thanked this post.
