    Are you a doomsayer?

I've been married to an INTJ for eleven years now. Some of the subjects he seems to enjoy most is anything apocalyptic, catastrophic, or generally doom oriented. Our DVR is practically filled up with shows about the end of the world, natural disasters, and predictions of mass destruction. He even has a count down, a doomsday clock if you will, on his Ipod. I love his dark sense of humor and unconventional conversations concerning all things apocalyptic, but it also leads me to wonder if this is just an individual obsession.

Please enlighten me INTJs. Are you all doomsayers or is it just my quirky lover?

hmm... I find the whole thing immensly interesting, I think it would be pretty cool if the world did end in 2012 because that would be really amazing to observe (espicially peoples reactions). So he's not the only one.

I've a very dark sense of humor and a great interest in the paranormal, aliens, etc. Some of those things could be said to be 'doom' related.

It may be highly possible, especially the direction that society has a tendency on going towards(violence, war and death). It's just the atypical becoming a norm.

I can't tell you how many programs I've watched with him on 2012. Ancient Aliens is the new one he's recording. We're planning a road trip of haunted places when we get back to the lower 48. It's fascinating to find other people similar to him. He is one of the most unique individuals I have ever known.

A dad of a high school friend once said to me something that I have never forgot (I was a sophomore).

"Life is a swirling, sucking vortex of pain with delusions of hope in an ever darkening world."

    Was he an INTJ, then?

My friends all tell me that I'm an extremely pessimistic person. I just won't think a lot about the good stuff: I'm just paranoid or pessimistic like that. I'm also into dark humor and yeah, I'm quite interested in the 2012 issue, watching up documentaries and all. I think it's just in me..

    Oh, I am absolutely a do0msayer of demented do0m.
    }:-D
But I also dig the gleeful squee which balances out the demdo0m. It's important to attain dualitronic equilibrium. Or at least strive for it.

I am not a doomsayer at all. I won't say the economy is awesome, but I wouldn't say the world is going to end.
