    The Scientist

Would the INTJs who can relate to this please stand up?

If you've ever lost someone dear to you, does it hit close to home? Does the plot of the song largely remind you of relationships in the past, romantic or platonic? If it does, care to share?

Edit: In response to wealldie, a link to the lyrics.

All of my relationships are very cut-and-dry, not much to write a song about. I don't relate to it.

I'm sure that there are a lot more romantic INTJs here, and they'll probably arrive shortly.

I don't hear his lyrics, so all I hear is his whiny voice asking me to cut him.

    INTJ - The Scientists

I can't relate to it because my heart has never spoke louder than my questions. Even when I'm heart broken and hitting rock bottom I'm still trying to analyze things, trying to realize why this is happening to me and what I can do about it. My mind is loud when I'm troubled, louder than the pain on my chest. So I can move on if I sort out my thoughts or busy my mind until I'm ready to deal with the thoughts.

    If you're interested...
An INTP I know showed me this song and I can strongly relate to it. I'd think other INTJs and INTPs would too, maybe...

    Lyrics:
Prepare yourself to meet a girl who can not sleep,
Dividing every question 'til the questions are complete.
Every twisted tongue, she studies everyone.
She won't leave any stone unturned, the night is oh so young.

Oh, oh, she's traveling back in time,
Questioning every line that someone said.
Oh, oh, she's trying to understand...

Free her mind, she's always the analyst.
Silent space: the culprit, the catalyst.
Trying to make sense of her life,
Digging around in the dirt, she's a slave to the work.
    She's always the analyst...

Can you be sure we haven't met? See the eyes, they don't forget.
They wander through the passage-ways that tease a restless mind,
Can't afford to slip, the picture's gotta fit.
Her world's a photograph that gets dissected bit by bit.

Re-living the mistake she's made, not a moment for the curious girl...

Free her mind, she's always the analyst.
Silent space: the culprit, the catalyst.
Trying to make sense of this life,
    Digging around, breaking it down.
    Neurotic thoughts,
    Burning the ground,
    Every sight, every sound,
    She's always the analyst...

    I'm anti-science.

Should we be INTJ: The Analysts?

I can't relate to The Scientist song at all. In fact it makes increasingly less sense the more I try. I don't understand the plot of the song, or the video, or why it would even be called 'The Scientist.'

I relate to The Analyst easily. It describes how I handle many of my personal problems, and the reasons for many of my sleepless nights.

@HannibalLecter: What does being anti-science have to do with it?

I would have posted this to mock INTJs.

Sorry, Chris Martin is just too whiney, out of tune and navel-gazing for my taste. The Dandy Warhols had a much better "Scientist" song, and while the video is crap, the girl looks like she might be an INTJ...

I don't know if "out of tune" is quite right but, otherwise, perfect description.

While I'm not much of a fan of that song, I love The Dandy Warhols. And, yes, I remember someone gushing over Coldplay about 10 years ago and demanding that I listen to it. His voice made me cringe.
