Are there any sites where you can invite someone to live-play chess with you that isn't on yahoo messenger (I can't use this one)?? I can't find one. And I'm bored to tears. I'm going to play against the computer now, but if you strategists know of any, please link me. Even if it's not chess (not checkers though), I'd be happy, though I prefer two player games. Thanks very much and sorry if this is a ...appealing to mbti stereotypes. I'm not sure if it is. I'd assume the strategist would enjoy strategy games, but that's probably over-simplifying? Also I'm not good at chess, just in case you're interested, I just like playing it.

I'm actually currently looking at the types with Ni and Fe with Ti/Se in a place that isn't dominant to make sure I'm not ruling out any types. But I'm pretty sure I'm Ni....

Chessfriends is by far the best place to play chess online. Many a friendly argument of mine have been absolved through that goddamned website, usually with me losing.

Also, @jakeabbott, I've (honestly now) been meaning to use the game chess as a problem-solving device with the members of my household. Whoever loses has to solve/deal with the problem, pahahaha. Does the game absolve the argument by serving as a distraction or by momentarily demonstrating who has the superior skill (haha)?

Usually it pisses off the other members of the household who don't like chess and/or are bad at it. I imagine for a house full of chess lovers it'd be quite fun, but I doubt there are much of them around.

Ah yeah. My mother doesn't yet understand chess very well, and my sister usually loses to me so she doesn't like to play it as much. Which I understand actually, I don't really like playing checkers because it confuses me and she always beats me. I'm surprised losing pisses your people off though, haha. Most of the fun is for me is the exaggerated rage/exaltation after the game (even during) so it's fine for me that after a game we'll stop and that we don't play until there are no moves left, since they're kind of long. But I'm mainly having that problem with playing games involving actual physical activity. Everyone's always tired or lazy or after about a minute they'll apparently get a headache or something silly that's just a result of their being unwilling and it's frustrating since these are two-player games and I don't have much of a choice except to quit if they don't play. story of my liiiiife. even this online chess thing is me catering to my sister so that she'll play even just one game with me. but the good thing is that they set you up with other people and stuff too (so I've made an account for/been teaching my little brother to play) so I'm being patient while she gets in the mood, however long that will take her.
