This is a discussion on In what way are you not the stereotypical INTJ? within the INTJ Forum - The Scientists forums, part of the NT's Temperament Forum- The Intellects category; I saw this in the ENFP forum (not that I lurk there ever, that would be stereotypical INTJ behavior ) ...

In what way are you not the stereotypical INTJ?

I saw this in the ENFP forum (not that I lurk there ever, that would be stereotypical INTJ behavior ) and thought it might be interesting over here, given all the INTJ stereotypes. In what way are you not the stereotypical INTJ?

One that bugs me is that we are arrogant and dismiss input from other people when coming to decisions. If I have a big decision to make (and time allows), I like to find at least one other person who knows what they are talking about on the issue and bounce ideas off them. I would rather come to the right conclusion than insist my conclusion is right.

    Also, I like hugs.

Well if a matter only effects me, my opinion is the only one that matters, but since those situations are so few and far between I've learned to ask others about their opinion on a subject. Other than that it would probably be that I don't like chess.

I'm lazy (life is shit), I don't give a shit (people are shit), I post-pone as much as possible (but I'm rarely late, and if I'm late, it's because I won't get in trouble for it), I'm not very organized (cut corners, sides, fuck it - just cut everything), I don't plan anything out very far, I paint my future in broad strokes and improvise the rest (who cares about details anyway), I get offended easily (but I try not to show it), I like cute things (for manipulating people), I'm really indecisive (actually, I'm confident and make up my mind easily, but then I change my mind later after the decision has already been made), and I also don't play chess (in fact, I suck at most strategy games because I just don't have the patience to play them).

I'm basically nothing like an INTJ at all.

I'm loud and I make a lot of unwanted noise. My neighbors hate me.

I'm quite sensitive but I don't show it that much, I don't know if that could be taken into account.

    I'm quite friendly and talkative.

I'm touchy with people, touchy being I like touching them, linking my arms with theirs, holding and some. (no green thoughts please!)

I'm quite fond of reading romance novels.

    I'm rather religious.

    I think that's for now.

Oh yeah, I don't feel like being an INTJ now, I'm in what my teacher would call "plateau of learning".

I like hugs. I've become more open with my emotions. I'm not a robot (Though I can be under stress). I don't speak so bluntly that people dislike me. I love being silly.

I used to be more like an INTJ. Now I don't relate a lot as I've tried to grow up a bunch.

People think I'm nice. I go outside and like going out. I absolutely love hugs. Morality means something to me. I can be irrational at times (usually in my initial reaction to something big). I actually have gooey feelings inside (I just don't let them show). I like what the stereotypical INTJ would perceive as trivial (boy bands like One Direction). And I put a little effort into my appearance (for me, not for other people). Oh, I also don't feel the need for intellectual superiority and I'm not arrogant at all.

I don't find chess interesting at all, and science only when it's directly relevant. I hate chess. I sometimes wear bright blues and purples.

Other than that, I am very, very INTJ-like.
