The Most Beautiful Piece of Music You've Heard

The title explains itself! There's another thread asking what INTJs are listening to right now, and I like that. But I wanted to have a thread dedicated to the superlative.

This is a piece by Maurice Ravel. Pavane Pour Une Infante Defunte translates to "Pavane for a Dead Princess." When asked why he would name a piece that way, he said that he simply liked the way the words sounded together.

The piece is just something else to me. Divine Melancholy. I've been very passionate about music since I was a child and out of the thousands I've listened to, this would be my favourite.

Can you guys post your absolute favourites, too?

My family owned a popular music school. We have recently sold the school for a few million; due to it's historical work(s) (&) locality. Grandfather would play this on the grand, learned it myself as well [as a familial tradition], piano came natural to me. I still sometimes play it when feeling down; but have forgotten most -- thus, just listen.

It was, and still is simply marvelous; poetic. A (strenuous) piece.

hahah! I didn't see the title of the music video cause I scrolled down too far, but I saw the image and immediately knew it was clair de lune. Thanks for this. Maybe if we get enough contributions here on classical music I can make a playlist for us INTJs.

Also, I am so envious you were surrounded by music as a child. There's so much fortune in that.

I have much more to contribute; however, this was my first (opportunistic) off-the-head selection. I shall return in later day(s) after raking my playlist(s).

    I like this

I like the sound, the content/lyrics are not too important, the sound is what i value most. Is it my favourite? probably not, i heard this recently and it came to mind.

some favorites of mine I'd classify as beautiful

(loved this one even before it got used in Arrival ...which I also loved)

think it'd kind of funny how much this album looks like it's from arrival too... and it's a similar styled song as well
