    We can do this

I have a proposition for you guys, who thinks they can go one full week without internet, TV or any other media related item? Personally i know that the media negatively affects me and the way i feel (and think) and it affects you as well, even if your not conscious of it. Especially for INFPs, we tend to waste hours and hours on the internet in order to avoid certain feelings and people. Instead of pushing away these things or dwelling in them its much better to go and do something productive even if it means involving other people (scary, i know). Anything that gets you out of your little world. I think we can do without the internet and i know we'll feel more refreshed and calm after that week. Whose with me?

I really need to do this, internet has been taking way too much of my time and it often makes me feel a bit miserable.
I also hate how an internet connection is becoming more and more necessary in our daily lives, I just don't want to use it but at the same time I can't stop using it.

I will give this a go somewhere during summer.

I did it few times, it is no big deal . . . . I dont watch tv for years, so only internet was little issue, but it is not so hard. At least for me.

Just dont ask me to not read for a week. :) My name is JoCZker and I am bookoholic. :(

^ I found this last semester during college. Could be pretty useful if you're trying to avoid the internetz and its distraction/procrastination-inducing powers. (Works on Macs only - sorry)

Personally, I don't know if I could do it if you're telling me to avoid all media, since technically books are media and I love reading way too much to give them up.

    What?

Sorry, but no. No internet, no music, no movies, no TV? No internet???

That's a bridge too far LOL.

Oh gee, what's with the lack of novelty seeking? Imagine the forum noticing the weight gone from such a vocal population ;P

Joking aside, I think I would extremely benefit from spending less time on the Internet. But on the other hand, PerC is probably the best site I've been on to date, and it helps me understand myself and the world better. It'd be so sad to have to give that up D: TV? Pfft, easy, there's never anything good on anyway (except for the morning cartoons). I don't read any news or magazines, but I like music and reading and those don't impair me in any significant way. So yeah, if I ever mustered the will-power necessary, keeping off the computer would help me be more focused and active.

Interestingly enough, our teenage group at church just finished a 15-day soda fasting. For me it was easy, but I'd love for us to do it with the Internet eventually too.
