    hidden desires

I've read this sentence about INFP: Their gentle nature doesn't make them unusually rebellious but covetousness of their hidden desires goes far beyond average. (this is my translation)

Do you agree with this? In my opinion INFPs have enourmous inner will and lust for freedom and life like any other type has (hi SPs ). What's the problem? Do you think psychological type is an obstacle that doesn't let us live by impulse? Maybe it's about our introversion, fears, sensitivity? Is there anyone who broke the obstacle and started living his dream?

    What's your deepest desire?

For me, I struggle to find a balance between overthinking everything and impulsiveness. I have done some impulsive things, but it was mostly just to prove something to myself and others. I think that sometimes I am jealous of others. I'm jealous of their social ease, their ability to make friends, pick up dates, their self-confidence and their inability to doubt themselves. But then I step back and remind myself that there are reasons that I'm not like the majority of society and that's okay. I have my unique abilities and traits, like everyone else. I know I wouldn't be happy living a shallow, materialistic existence.

My deepest desire would be to have a simple life with a few close friends, hobbies I enjoy, a job I like, and maybe a partner I love. I want to be able to not be afraid of going after the things I want and not what society wants me to chase.

My INFP ex-boyfriend always longed for freedom and couldn't handle if anyone was tying him down/giving him an ultimatum/making him make decisions. He had deep desires, but wasn't really good at reaching them due to his impulsiveness and indecision.

Oh yeah, and forgot to mention this (and it might be irrelevant since I'm an INFJ), but my deepest desire is love, to love and be loved back.

My deepest desire is to be loved and admired for things that I am good at. Since I was a little kid, I wanted to be an actress because I saw them as the people everyone loved. But with parents who refused to allow me to dream, I never received any training or support and I'm now looking into working behind the camera.

But that dream of being an actress still resonates with me. I also want to find a really good relationship, someone who isn't abusive but who is a good fit for me. That's a relatively new desire.

God that's a good question and from the hip, I don't even know how to answer it coherently. I want to ponder this one for a little bit.

Same for me...but I'm an equally irrelevant non-INFP.

A perfect-match partner who'll never get bored by me, and who I'll never get bored by. Someone who will always give me corny butterflies in my heart every time he looks at me, ahhahahaa, and who feels exactly the same about me.

Don't we all wish for that?
