Any INFP Type 5s out there? :)

Hey! I'm new to this site as of today, but have been interested in personality types (MBTI in particular) for quite a long time. Psychology is one of my many passions and by the time I finish my education I'll hopefully be working as a child psychologist!
While I was registering for the site I was introduced to the Enneagram personality types, and discovered that I'm a 5w6. After reading a bit about Type 5s, it struck me as funny that it seems to be rather contrary to the typical INFP, although both types fit me like a glove. I couldn't figure out why I sometimes leaned in a direction that was more pragmatic and scientific than many INFP's I know, but now it seems I've found my reason. I also did a True Colors test not long ago. They can be tricky to get a hold of (around here, anyway), but for what it's worth I'm a green.
Just wondering if anyone has anything to say about being an INFP Type 5, and saying my first hello to you all! :D Sorry if I'm in the wrong subforum or anything, I'm still just getting used to the site. :P

There's not many of us, but there are a few. I'm 5w6 INFP, too.
I don't know what it is I should say about it, other than what you've mentioned. It's such an odd assortment, but both fit me well. When I do take the intellectual trip down the ribbon, it is not what is what another might find very smarty-pants.
I like to fly as a kite and then I'll go down the kite string, examine each bow, then make some sort of discovery as to who might be holding on. We have the dot. Dot. Dot. Mighthaps, I feel as if I'm the scientific child-like mind, no mind to what my age truly is, for what has time been to me.

    Hope that can help.
    It's good to meet you.
Best that I can give a go on.

It makes sense given my contradictory personality. I've read elsewhere that it can be somewhat of a toxic mix, and life has been a hard slog more often than not, so yeah... I'm mature and childlike; I'm cold and passionate; I'm rational and emotional; I'm tough and soft. Going on mid-30s and I'm still trying to mix all that oil and water.

I'm 5w6 as a secondary; not too versed it this one, though.

    I'm a 4 but I have a strong 5 wing. 4 and 5 are both very prevalent in my personality. :)

Used to put a lot of thought in some of the contradictions between INFP and Enneagram type 5. Though I find more similarities between the two now than anything else and that the way of explaining our behaviours are based on different factors in both systems. Both are valid in my view, just more pieces to fit into this puzzle of 'who am I?'. Hope you enjoy your stay here :).

Mine said 5w4. I didn't look into it much. All I read said it made me more of an introvert...

From all the information I've read and the time I've spent analyzing my own behavior I'm definitely a 5w4. I do wish I wasn't so interested about the inside of my skull.

    At the same time.

I totally feel as though I'm at both ends of a given spectrum. At the same time. All the time. It's frustrating, intriguing madness.
