When the gap between Dreams and Reality is getting further & further?

    Dear fellow INFPs,

What would you do when/if you've learned/found that the gap between the so-called "Reality" and your "Dreams" are seemingly getting further & further away?

Would you give up on your dreams?
Or, look for the alternative dreams or goals?
Or, constantly keep fighting for it?

Please share your stories and struggles (and some quotes or inspiring words of wisdom or advices would be highly appreciated).

Look for alternative ways to achieve your dream.

Nope, I will keep chasing my dreams until I die. My belief is that there's no point in living if you're not going to enjoy life. My goal is to travel the world and I think if I want it bad enough I will find out a way to do it. Even if life can get a little scary sometimes, it's better than working at a crappy job until you retire, then most of your life has been wasted. Don't give up!!!

It depends on what the dreams are. Mine are relatively humble and I don't see any reason why I can't accomplish them. However, if I had a dream to be a movie star or a model or something like that, I'd have to come to terms with it never happening because the odds are so far out of my favor. Then again, I've never been one of those hardcore optimists. I intentionally set goals for myself that I know I can achieve and I'm okay with that.

If your dreams truly are lofty, then chase them, but also consider alternatives.

Actually I think it depends what your dream is. Example say your dream is to be a surgeon but you pass out at the sight of blood. Probably going to have to give up on that one.

In all seriousness, I'd probably have a nervous breakdown followed by:

    A. become a hermit/never leave my house again/leach of somebody.
    B. go crazy.
    c. kill myself.

Luckily, my dreams are pretty much attainable as long as I keep my wits about me.

well I believe anything is possible. also, my second favorite saying is "screw reality! anything's possible! so anything you can amagine can be real! and if it isn't or hasn't been yet, then one day it will be! because there's a first time for everything." my dream would be to live in a fantasy world like Hyrule, but we all know that's unlikely. but still, if anything possible then it could happen. I'll just have to find a way to get there. and even if I don't within this lift time, there's still a chance that somebody will. and once my life is over if I still have yet to succed, then there's always a chance in heaven.
I've always liked the ideam that heaven is what ever you make it to be, just like paradice is differernt for everyone. but I like imagine the golden gates on top of the clouds. you're greeted at the gates, and then when you go through they shift and turn to form what ever shape is your paradice.

I think that it is good to achieve a dream if it is possible. Personally, I think their comes a point for myself where I need to accept that certain things are not meant to be for me. I feel that it is pointless for me to keep trying to make something happen that probably won't happen. To keep trying and failing makes me feel worthless or depressed. Acceptance, although hard at first, will bring peace and content. It wasn't a dream but I kept trying my hand at jobs that involved the use of my hands and I just wasn't good at these jobs. So at some point I made the decision to try something else and go to school. In the end it paid off for me and I feel better about myself today doing something that suits me more, even if it may not pay as much as jobs in the trades. I enjoy my work and that is really important to me and can make up for making less money. My happiness is priceless.

I'm still very torn on this. I, as a true P, can never decide. I will shift between thinking about other ways to use my talents to make money, chasing the dream, and giving up. It all depends on my current mood, which doesn't help me chase the dream.

I have big dreams for myself and one day plan on achieving my goals. They are rather lofty, but one of the things i have always heard was that "anything worth while takes effort" (something like that) and in order for me to acquire my dreams i know i will have to work hard for them. Recently i have been forced to give up on some of these means to make my dreams reality, all this means to me is that i will have to find another way to acquire them.
