    Confused about my Personality type

I am kind of torn between being an INFP and an INTP....because I feel like I belong partially in both categories. I actually took many Jungian tests over the internet and they've come up as INFP and INTP....I think I might be just a little bit more on the INTP because I think and contemplate many philosophical questions constantly and I am inside my head a lot, but I have a lot of an INFP side to me like being really emotional engaged in music and also being a very spiritual person fascinated by nature, and altered states of consciousness. I also can keep deeply effected on an emotional about things....especially philosophical things. I know for sure I'm an INxP. I'm wondering if anyone can help me figure out my true personality.

You just described me exactly. I spend a lot of my idle time contemplating hypothetical moral dilemmas ("What do I do if someone tells me information that I could use to save someone's life, under the condition that I do not save anyone's life with it?"). I got tested in 10th grade as part of a class I was taking, and I got INTP. But lately, I've been getting INTP and INFP in an equal amount. The last test I took said I was 51% F and 49% T.

This reflects in my current attitudes towards life too. I get very easily depressed thinking about how people have such little empathy, and often choose obedience over doing what is right. Also, music has a more profound effect on me today than it has had ever before.

Actually, we might be INTPs after all.

I know it's an INTP vs. INTJ article rather than INTP vs. INFP, but towards the end of this article, it talks about how INTPs care more about "love, affection, morality etc. It is important for an INTp to be involved with someone, to have an object of affection"

I also have a lot of INTP traits, but the thing that makes me know I'm an INFP is what I would consider as the weaknesses. When I look at the INFP weaknesses I (begrudgingly as I don't really like criticism!) have to admit that yeah that is me, and that is me, and ouch that is also me. When I look at the INTP ones then it's not really true.

But I think that we shouldn't get hung up on trying to move our personalities into boxes, so much as move the boxes to fit our personalities. That probably made no sense!
