    Had a breakthrough yesterday!

With some help from my best friend, an ENFP, I was able to reconnect with my inner child yesterday and it helped cure me of that dreaded feeling of loneliness!

I know I'm going to have to make it a point to continue checking in with him and keeping him happy.

    WOOHOO!!!! :)

    hehe :D

I experienced something like that after getting out of a verbally abusive situation. I suddenly found myself having very strong memories of childhood, like I hadn't had in many years. It really did feel like I was reconnecting with myself as I had been before the bad times. It almost felt like I was growing up again, or perhaps somewhat like a computer running through it's start up, I needed to 'restart' because I'd crashed and burned.

In the more often used sense Ive always been in touch with my inner child though, hehe. I think it's really great when people can be playfull, have a sense of wonder, be spontaneous, trust and rely on others, and just be child-like nomatter what their age. Too many peopel try to throw away the good aspects of childhood with a false concept of what it means to be mature.

So, in whatever sense you've experienced the connection with your inner child, good for you! keep it up!

I relate much to what you wrote in the first paragraph - I had such an experience the other day. Someone at work ridiculed me in such a manner that I couldn't defend myself - very subtle but evil. And he did it in the very beginning of the day, so I had to go through the whole workday repressing the mixed feelings of rage and intense despair. Then I came home and was finally able to let it go, so I cried heavily until it all turned into hate which made me feel calm and superior (to him), and what do you know, today I'm once again grasping all the signs of polite friendliness he sends..

I am by nature in touch with my inner child, as you describe it in the second paragraph, so much that I actually have to hold back on it to not seem foolish..

That's great! My inner child is repressed most of the time, but it comes out when I speak before thinking and take time to smell the roses.
