    INFP Population

Some sources say that INFPs comprise 1% of the general population and others say 2%. I wonder which is more accurate. There seems to be a greater number of INFPs than other types in PersonalityCafe, or maybe that's just my perception. It would be cool if there was some kind of indicator that displayed how many of each personality type are members of this community.

Who knows for sure. Regardless though, it's a very small percentage. It seems like the complete opposite by judging based on this forum, but I think there's so many of us here because we're, for one, introverted, and two, because we are very introspective and curious. At least I am...

I imagine it would depend on the kind of survey used to determine the percentage. If it was done by phone, our low percentages could be because INFPs are not as likely to own phones or answer them. If it was done in a public place, our introversion might cause us to be underrepresented. If it was done online or in a classroom setting, we might be overrepresented because we are introverted intuitives, which tend to be more prevalent in such settings. Unless I know how the information was gathered, I cannot determine whether it is accurate.

I agree. There probably aren't as many extroverts who are concerned with self-exploration and trying to find like-minded people.

True. They should have like an annual MBTI convention with personality type related information and entertainment. Kind of like the real Personality Cafe concept, only more feasible.

I'd go to something like that.

I'm just an idea man. I see the big picture, not minute details. We need organized people who will make it happen.

I know someone like that, who likes to make events happen, but he has no interest in personality theory.

INFPs are not as rare as your claim is asserting. The present assessment is between 4.5% & 5.5% of the general populous.

I wonder how they get these numbers. Maybe when they take the personality test they save it in their database.
