2012 equals the end? Fact or Fiction.

    Hey all,

Bored at work and school today...again.

So what do you think about 2012?

Are you all packing up canned goods in your basement's along with your oxygen masks. Or do you think we have nothing to worry about?

My close friend gets rather nervous and uncomfortable when I discuss anything remotely close to a conspiracy theory. I just find it all interesting and sometimes amusing. I prefer to know than not usually, no matter how disturbing.

So as I understand it has something to do with religions, the N.W.O., the Mayan Calendar and/or the Illuminati.

    Thoughts?

I have no concrete opinions on the topic, but I read somewhere that it marks the next step (shift) in the evolution of human consciousness, which will drastically change the world as we know it... or perceive it.

I like this, but I'm very skeptical.

    Perhaps a zombie apocalypse?

Seriously though, I hope it doesn't end. There is so much I've yet to experience in life...

I am certain, as much as one can be certain about anything, that nothing is going to happen. At least with the Y2K scare there was a small (very, very unlikely) chance that something could have happened.

I think, probably, that nothing will happen. Really, I just don't know and don't necessarily lean one way or the other.

On the other hand, I find conspiracy theories very interesting, and I love hearing others' explanations as to why they believe what they believe.

...After all the hype about natural disasters and shifting poles and whatnot, what if someone just decides to take it into their own hands, and, you know?

When are people going to realize it's all a Mayan marketing trick. The world doesn't end in 2012, that calendar just runs out and you need to buy a new one.

Ah yes, the Y2K scare. I remember that very well. Everyone holding signs about the world ending and turns out it just caused a few computer glitches at the local corporate hell holes

    true story:

2 weeks before Y2K, I went to Wal-Mart and bought like 3 containers of oatmeal and a couple gallons of spring water, just in case the pizza hit the fan. Then, nothing happened and I was like WTF, now I have to eat all this oatmeal.
