    Nervous breakdowns?

Has anyone ever had a nervous breakdown? I remember having a few when I was much younger, but not recently until last night. It began at work when I began to feel anxious and my mind was running, then after work I was overthinking and had a mini exestential crisis. I had a panic attack and broke down into tears for like 30 minutes. Is this normal?

    Yes, it is normal.

Ever since I've gotten more and more anxious - I can't seem to control a whirlwind of 100 different things on my mind and it just makes me feel defeated. Thus, I have a break down and really do want to cry it out. Sometimes I'll do that in my own private space.

It helps to have that one person who will let you chanel it out and just give you some comfort and some perspective of what can help you bounce back up. What's also cool with having someone you're close to and trust your space/vulnerability with is the fact that you feel you aren't dealing with it all by yourself and that someone at least knows that you're upset and you're carrying a weight in your mind.

I go through anxious and depressive times as well. I think it's bound to happen when you're an idealist.

I self-medicate with marijuana, but at times it causes me to hyper-focus on the bad and painful. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm quite curious about INFP's and marijuana use. Although I love it most of the time (and I only take it in the evenings and weekends), I feel like I may be becoming too reliant on it, as well as antisocial/paranoid. If this is too off-topic let me know and I'll create a new thread.

    It's more anxiety than schizophrenia.

Yeah.. anyway I think kava kava would be perfect drug choise for ppl who have anxiety problems:
It is legal ( in most countries) it descrease anxiety, u will be more talkative and sosial and it is way more healthier choise than most of drugs.

I had one which seemed to have lasted a month or so easily.

I think I've suffered a few years with depression in my late teens early 20s, several years later I just was overwhelmed at work and had an 'episode' of real fear and anxiety...I could not face going into work over something silly so I just never went back into work. I have felt like this at times...only recently have I felt long term anxiety and fear (work issues again) and I do feel I am heading towards burn out.

What I have found useful is

Amazon.com: The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom (A Toltec Wisdom Book) (9781878424310): Don Miguel Ruiz: Books

Interesting book. I have been listening to the audio version - it has an excellent part about not taking things personally as people dish out 'poison' sometimes unintentionally...I have started to realise that people getting pissed off or upset about things is THEIR problem not mine. Sadly being INFP I tend to absorb all sorts of emotions so pick up bad vibes too easily

yes, this happens to me from time to time over various things. It helps to get it out. I often feel better afterwards. Frequently it is about things which I don't like but can't necessarily really change in life - as a kid it was always school. Now, it's about needing to make money and wanting to be the creative free spirit that I am and not knowing how to do both. I find that I can go on for a while just dealing with these things I don't like pretty well, but after a while my frustration and disappointment builds up enough that I am overwhelmed and have to get it out. It may not change the situation, but sometimes I get some real insights afterwards on how to help myself, and often it just feels better to get out those feelings. Just to say "This Isn't How It Should Be!!!!" It also really helps to have someone there to empathise and hug me - to let me know I'm not alone in this trouble - which they probably wouldn't do unless I did have a breakdown because they wouldn't know I needed that encouragement.
