Has anyone become addicted to Facebook?

I have had to commit Facebook suicide because I was starting to get obsessed with it, i.e.
    * Checking it every 5 minutes
    * Waking up in the middle of the night thinking I'd better feed my fish in FishVille
    * Being overly-sensitive to my own posts and everybody else's (paranoia was setting in, I think)
*Thinking, when something cool happened in real life, "Cool---I need to post this on my status"
*Whenever I logged into FB I would get a sick feeling of dread in my stomach

    Weird?
Anyone besides me have to cut themselves off from it?

Yes I have, the internet is essentially an introvert heaven and facebook is perhaps no different. I have deleted my facebook three or maybe four times now entirely. I beat my addiction by removing it from my life. It's a shame I had to use forced detachment rather non-attachment - forcing myself free of it (and only learning to run away) rather than beating it by strength of will (or by not deleting it.)

you can always reactivate it later and it revives everything.

I dont' think that I'm addicted to it, but I do get way too upset if no one comments on a status update I write...which is such a silly thing to get upset over. I start thinking "man, no one likes me" and all sorts of other crap that probably isn't true etc. I try to only check it once every few days now.

I'm not addicted (or I can break myself out of it pretty easily and forget it exists). I mostly keep it around to keep in touch with my online friends. The only times I've checked it the past week or so were quick things to see what my friend had put as his status because I just like knowing what's going on with him (even though I hear all of it anyway ) I can get a little obsessive with it when I have nothing else to do but I'm quick to forget about it if I leave it alone.

I agree w. the person who said it's like high school all over again. Who needs that?

everytime I log out facebook, I deactivate it.
That means, I can see everyone when I am on, but no one can see me if they are not on at the same time as me
