Izzie, I'm going to say ENFP or INFJ may be possible too.

Now that's a little funny. I have plenty of ambitions, probably as many as you. I don't think that makes me any less INFP.

Sorry girl I didn't mean it that way

I think due to generalizations INFP's tend to get underestimated a lot. But I think we're more intelligent than what they give us credit for.

I meant my ambitions lie a lot in thinking based strategies that involve social systems/politics, etc.

Generalizations are a bit dumb, to be honest with you. MBTI is just a tool. People who rely on generalizations can often exploit them or fall into traps of negative self fulfilling prophecies. (I'm speaking in general btw)

Sometimes I can't figure out if I'm quite INFP, or if I've just gotten that so much on the tests that I've taken that I over analyze and try to mush myself into the categories.

    You can over-do tests.

For example, if you do IQ tests over and over and over, your IQ score will end up increasing. Does that mean you're "smarter?" Not at all.

You seem pretty INFP to me, but I hope you don't judge yourself based on how other INFPs act here. Some guys on here could be my friends, some of the girls could be a romantic partner, and others could be my sworn enemies. The variety is incredible~

    Hey, no worries! Sorry if I sounded aggressive, I didn't mean to! ^^;

I agree with your whole post. I should hope people don't generalize INFPs as unintelligent, as there are certainly many brilliant INFPs out there. Just because Fi might drive our actions does not mean we cannot be logical, or intellectual. Type is really just a tool like you said, and most of us are in the gray area somewhere. And besides, I don't believe you can measure intelligence with MBTI.

I don't think using thinking effectively is that un-INFP, unless thinking is more natural for us than feeling. But I'm a little close to the border between the two.

I really hope people don't think that feelers aren't that smart. Then again, I have my biases as well - I don't exactly think highly of sensors, and that isn't good at all. I'd like to meet someone who would prove my own generalizations wrong, I'm sure there are plenty who can.

    Like me? -Uses manly voice-

    Sorry.

But yeah, you're right. I think I've learned how to manipulate the answers.

This thread should probably be put back on the rail now. Or the... railroad. Or Whatever.

Sorry if I derail this thread, but why do a number of INFP's seem to really dislike sensors?

I kind of like Sensors..Maybe it's because of my experiences with them in real life ..Or because that my parents are Sensors.

Okay well honestly, growing up with my parents, there were difficulties in our relationship yes. Plenty of them. But gradually, we become more understanding of each other.

Sometimes I like Sensors better than I like NT's to be honest. Sensors seem..more humble or maybe I'm entirely biased/my experiences are limited.

Added: Because NT's and I seem to argue more, and get suspicious of each other's intentions
