What pisses you off about the world?!

As an INFP, my intuition is so powerful, that insight comes naturally to me, but why don't others just get it?! It's such a chore to explain to people the complexity of things, and most of the time I can't even be bothered. Spoken words haven't done any favors for me. People are so blinded by the mainstream, or what's "cool" that they completely disregard their own feelings and define themselves by a crowd. Where is the realness? I know I am the most eccentric of the eccentric, but everyone is weird and most are too afraid to embrace their oddities. My generation, unfortunately is the generation of narcissism; Kids are constantly hung up on Facebook statuses and objectivity. I believe Facebook is extremely self involved, and is ruining the process of greater human thought, and our connection to the the environment. The instant gratification of the internet will be our downfall. Where wil we be in 10 years. Society will never advance to point of altruism, and the true meaning of life which is love and connectedness. The aura is completely out of wack, and I'm becoming more cynical with time, which is shameful.

...WOW I feel like Holden Caulfield, or like I have some sort of phonyphobia.

What do you think? As an INFP, what pisses you off about the world?

I was watching this show on TV today about how consumer crazy this country has become. Grown men lining up on black friday with teenagers ripping into each other to cut in front of the line for a PS3 set.

Grown men and women killing fellow human beings by tramping on them repeatedly just to get into a Wal Mart sale at 5 am in the morning.

Grown men and women cutting each other off, tailgating and flashing lights, flicking off each other when no one can get out of the traffic jam anyways.

Most of all, I am angry at how adversarial our world has become. Most school to work or home, there is the constant struggle with One upmanship., fight over who has the more material wealth, how much are you bringing home, what cars do you drive, how much prestige can you get.

Trivial pursuits of the most trivial minds.

You worded it better than I ever could. I beleive wanting ultimately deprives us of happiness, the more craving the more physical unhappiness. That is a buddhist approach to life.. I guess. All of those pleasures are fleeting, they will never bring about true happiness..The problem is most people don't see past right now. The world is a sick sad place to live in

Even with all the stuff previously and what will be posted, the majority of people wont even care. I wish people would stop being so ignorant and self involved and have their own personality, but we are INFPs living in a idealized ESTJ world.

This train of thought is actually what caused me to question what I am studying at university. Im studying Computer Graphic Design. In my first year I read a book by Kalle Lasn (he is with adbusters and culturejamming if anyone has heard of those), and it really influenced the choices I made whilst continuing my study. I really, really do not want to get into advertising. Overconsumption is a huge issue in modern society, and marketing/advertising only fuels that fire. Also some of the moral flexibility with regards to some of the messages advertisers send out is just beyond me.

Why is 'stuff' so important? :S

I completely agree with what the OP said, but I have a feeling trying to live without keeping up and having "things" will prove to be difficult as well. I would've like to have been my age in the 40s or 50 without all the technology. Things might have been simpler and happier, but perhaps not.

thanks to OP for thread. Narcissism is rampant in our society because people don't take time to be alone. I think if more people were reflective and meditative, they would understand their capacity for altruism, generosity and transcendent state of being. The problem is they're so stuck in the present, they don't see the possibilities of a better future. The masses make fun of us because we're different, eccentric as you put it. Of course, sometimes our imagination can get the better of us, but at least we understand our issues and actually can enjoy being in the present. i think being alone can actually help foster a healthy perspective on life, the rhythms, the unseen reality.

Complete disregard of Nature's wonders and uncontrolled consumption of natural resources.

Lack of will to utilize ecological scientific breakthroughs to coexist with Nature rather than control Nature.

Uncontrolled progress of weapon manufacturing and armament.

Insistence on segregating humanity based on religion, scientific progress, type of society, race, gender, class.

Lack of self-insight and awareness altogether.

    The power of money.

Not the world I want my children to be a part of.

What pisses me off is how mean people are these days. They honestly don't care about you.
