Jump ahead to today. I am the worst promoter. I cannot go out and schmooze with people who book bands at venues. I just don't have that salesmanship. I am great once you put me on stage, but I can't book a gig to save myself. My band is sick of practicing and they want to make money. All I want in the world is to make SOMETHING of my creations. I want to share them with people. I've had times of mild success when other people were doing the booking, but I can't find someone who is willing to manage a new band without a following or guaranteed cash flow. My guitarist is trying out for a cover band tonight to make some money. I feel I am losing a grip on my musicians and I am sick of feeling stuck without playing in front of people.

Man, I hear you with the promotion. I'm so unsocial nowadays that I am not even looking seriously for band members, let alone promotion. I think I'd do okay with promotion - if I had the energy to get band mates and want to play live or get a record deal or whatever, I'd be confident enough in myself and my abilities to deal with people. My musicality is just about the only thing I'm confident in.

I do like your music! I wish I could read the lyrics though... which reminds me I want to type up my lyrics to put on my soundcloud page. Anyway, those keys are rockin'.

Cool thread! I would post my video but I'm on my phone and I sont think I can do it right now. Its on page 72 of our own video/vlog thread. Anyways, I'm self taught and don't come from a musical family. I listen to a lot of rock old and new but my playing sounds real bluesy though.

I just put a new page up on my solo thing, so you should be able listen to whatever song you please, and yep, I do the writing.
