Sometimes when my mind wanders I'll realize I've been having whole conversations with someone. My rational mind tells me I ought to not believe in such things, but I'm not entirely convinced that these situations are always completely imaginary...

I'm not sure if this qualifies as imaginary friends, but I speak to my dog a lot as if he understands and responds. I was worse when I was younger though. I can recall having one-sided conversations with my miniature schnauzer where I pleaded with him that if he spoke back to me, I promise I won't tell anyone and exploit him for fame. I don't know how long I waited for his end of the bargain...

Yeah I used to do that too, with my lil' brother. Oh wait. He wasn't an animal. Nor was he imaginary. *shrugs*

And same with Digimon after that... lol

And for a loooong time I had an imaginary best friend named Laura who was originally a girl a year younger than me at school who I was too shy to approach, but eventually just evolved into what I sort of pictured my 'ideal' best friend to be like.

I use to do a similar thing with the pokemon.
Me and my ENTP friend back when i was 8, use to make heaps of
fun games were we would play them out as superhero or video game character.
I also use to imagine my teddy bears would come alive and talk to me.

It was actually quite fun, from what i remember.

Hahaha. Yeah, I used to have an imaginary skeleton-pirate boyfriend when I was 7. He was awesome. I think he was inspired by the Pirates of the Carribean ride at Disneyland.

I also had imaginary monsters living under my bed and couldn't have any body part hanging over the side when I slept because I feared they would pull me under and eat me. I always had to protect the people in my closet from the monsters under the bed... Wow, saying that out loud makes me feel like a freak.
Same for me, although often I had to have my entire body covered by the blanket and the blanked had to be tucked in under my body, because otherwise the evil shadow-creatures/crocodiles/tiny-flying-witches-with-magic-powers-on-brooms would come and do something horrible... I also hid my stuffed animals under the blanket with me and whispered that they had to be very very quiet because otherwise we might be heard.
I never really had any imaginary friends, although I had this very elaborate fantasy-world I often day dreamed about with a complexed society of different ranks of people, laws, etc.
I spent most of my awake-time day dreaming, often having conversations with myself where I acted out the different characters and matched them with tone of voice/facial expressions/ gestures... they also included conversations with people I knew, which sometimes left me confused with which conversations I'd had were real or just imagined.
Of course I also played with stuffed animals/dolls/other inanimate objects/ me as god and body parts islands etc.

I never had imaginary friends, but I wanted one, so I made up imaginary friends - like imaginary imaginary friends.

I used to play house with my friends - but it wasn't normal house. We were wizards and dragons and things. I also created worlds and families and things for my stuffed animals.
