Cinically Dying and Coming Back to Life (NDE)

Having met a number of people who claim they have had an experience where they actually
died, had the out of body experience and returned again to their bodies, I am curious if anyone
here has had that experience or is interested in such phenomena.

I find it fascinating and would like to think that it is some evidence for the Afterlife, but some
say that it is simply the brain malfunctioning, hallucinating etc.

Of course there are many books and websites on this subject and I can't get enough of them..
    what do others think?

Having watched I-don't-how-many doctors recount the things they were told by those who were dead on the table, things they couldn't possibly have heard, let alone seen...

I tend not to laugh at it.

It is not scientific proof and so personally it doesn't really excite me all that much neither does it surprise me either that this kind of thing happens, it just doesn't seem that strange to me because ultimately life is strange. It could be malfunctioning, could be that the mind can still exist outside the body, I also think that some (but not everyone obviously) will lie about these things or exaggerate them maybe not even deliberately. So we are relying upon word of mouth which to me just doesn't really mean terribly much. Put simply I need much more proof before I would say this is proof of an afterlife.

Some people in this thread speak to their experiences. Near Death Experiences

Also, there is a fantastic wikipedia page on dying last words.... Steve Jobs' supposedly said Wow, Wow, Wow per his sister. Thomas Edison - "It is very beautiful over there." http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Last_words

I had my life flash before my eyes when I was younger.
