Boldness and Daring, INFP Desire/Adversion for?

I keep reading how timid men are treated like trash by my society, the USA, and how bold and daring men are sought out to a great degree.

So my question is: What is your experience as an INFP? Are you timid, or are you bold and daring? Other types are welcome to join in on the fun as well if they have observations of INFPs.

I tend to appear timid at times, but when something important to me is threatened I become bold and daring(sometimes) in my defense of thereof.

I wouldn't say timid as much as reserved, but I'm mostly not bold or daring (as you said) unless something or someone important to me is threatened or insulted. After highschool things got better and people stopped walking all over me. Doing kung fu and looking in shape probably doesn't hurt either haha... don't tell anybody but I may seem tough but I'm still too timid and afraid of hurting people to actually use my Kung Fu ;)

I'm not actually sure. I said timid, but that might just be that I'm very reserved and quiet. People don't tend to do things that require me to be bold and daring, so I guess I don't actually know...

I said timid because it is sadly true :( I wish I could be more bold and 'out there' but oh well. People find me cuddly, like a kitten because of it so its not all bad :D

I can be somewhat timid or stand-offish.
I don't feel timid on the inside.. Extreme sports sound amazing to me, and I get restless enough to look for danger sometimes.
    I like competitions..

I will be the first person to back down in an argument unless I'm being trolled. -_-
Then they will see MY inner troll. >:D

Basically, I hide or restrain my boldness. v.v

I am mostly reserved, but I have stood up and defended the downtrodden, defenseless, and weak whenever necessary. When I was 7, I spoke up (even though I was incredibly petrified) to a group of boys who were about to beat up a boy for his ethnic background. I argued in his defence, and, to my amazement, the group of boys actually saw their error, apologized to the boy, and befriended him. I have also protected various people from being killed in car accidents or from being harmed. I have also spoken up when something I valued was threatened.

I've no problem with bold people as long as they don't try to mold me to be just like THAT. Also, if they don't use that boldness as a mean to be a compulsive asshole in the most deliberate way. Some of my friends are bold though not necessarily authoritative.

But hey, if I could just be laid back, chill and they're fine with that, I have a good reason to respect them no matter what their MBTI preference are.

The "all man should be more bold, daring, masculine, rational, blah blah" stereotype would just fly over my head. That's a good way to prove to me how close-minded and unaccepting the advocator is. I would stay away as far as I can from that kind of person. Even secretly mock them.

I am pretty timid when approaching people I don't know or new experiences. I tend to prefer people to be more timid in general and can find boldness a bit abbrasive, though not always. I guess it depends. As I've mentioned before, I love action films full of SP type characters, but in real life I often feel rather overwhelmed by such people.

I guess in some ways I might be considered daring by some people when I am feeling confident of my ability or whatever I might do things that other's wouldn't think 'safe' or which would make me stand out. But, I wouldn't say this happens very often.

Quiet, reserved, not *daring* at all. An example -- I'd rather READ about DMT experiences than experience DMT myself. Another example -- I'd rather watch a guy skiing down a mountain than do it myself.

But alas...if you get me mad enough, I'll defend myself. I'll also defend family, probably to The Death, if need be.

Sought out by whom? Also bold and daring about what? It's not all or nothing. People are bold and daring in some areas of their life and are not in others. I know people who take a lot of risks with their career or their art, but are quite shy around other people.
