I know infps are sensitive to music, art, etc., but do you ever read a book and literally nearly lose yourself in it? I read a novel over the weekend that I identified with so strongly (about dysfunctional families/childhood) that I almost had a hard time figuring out what was my reality when I woke up this morning.

I think I may have to stick to reading comics only....

I don't normally read fiction, but when I do I'm lost in the book and Imagine myself in it. So yes, I do. If only for a short while.

Only if its a story, then I am the story. Happens every time, my imagination just explodes.

Currently doing so with Edward Gibbon's The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire.

Being lost in a good book is excellent, especially if it's really long and gives time for everything to develop...

YES. It doesn't happen that often, I'm more likely to get bored/distracted and leave a book half-finished. But if I am especially enraptured by a piece of writing I'll skip sleep and meals to keep reading. I just keep on reading and "living" whatever is happening until the book ends and then I have to spend the next few hours dealing with what just happened in the story. Because I feel like it just happened to me personally. Actually it can be really annoying because it interferes so much with my already sub-par ability to be a normal person and interact with the real world, but I really do love how deeply I can dive into another world and let my imagination fully take over. Wouldn't trade that for all the street smarts in the world...

I've never lost myself in a book...*looks sketchy*

...ok, I admit that I tend to get a bit involved in reading...

...ok, to be honest I've got a bit of a problem. :P

And I admit that I still check wardrobes. Just in case. (yes, really)

But seriously, after reading I'll often find myself experiencing after-emotions of the characters. If they were sad or angry, I'll be in a bad mood for a few hours. After a good book, my imagination will be full of little leftover kernels of creativity that I'll have to find an outlet for.

Hahaha.. absolutely. I have lost track of my surroundings, the time, going to the potty, when to eat and sometimes... I'll stay in one position too long that some bones fuse together (it feels like!). I get absorbed! And yes... if someone would have tried to interrupt me, it would have taken me a few seconds to realize the day and time of current reality.

Oh, completely. The after-effects of a good book stay with me for days. I'm a very fast reader but I can't seem to read more than one book a week, although I start many at the same time. I read them one after the other because I need to give each one its time to sink in.

I'm not the only one who reads more than one book at once, right? Sometimes I'll read up to three (maybe four?) at a time. The effect this has on me is...interesting. :P

Oh boy, all the time. I'm the girl on the subway that probably looks like I'm always about to sneeze, when really, I'm just holding back the tears! lol.
